Hi, I've got this doubt.
Is it OK for a roe deer to eat chicken feed? It's got corn, wheat... Will it cause any kind of disease? Do they like it or no?
Thank you.

I used a mixed poultry feed, wheat, corn etc, in my Feeders and the roe love it, they just get fat. The muntjac are not as keen based on trail cam footage.

Stags here love to hoover up both the mixed grains and layers pellets. Doesn’t seem to do them any harm, and it doesn’t make them taste of chicken either :)

If its commercial chicken feed then I would look into it. I know that most contain coccidiostat such as (Nicarbazin & Maxiban) these can both be Dangerous for equines.
Not sure if it would effect deer tho.

I used Rolled Oats, Roe and Munty love it, but, as per Willowbank so do the treerats, crows etc. However the deer visit late evenings and early morning as per trailcam so the 20b gets some exercise during the day.

Wheat ,Corn or any carbohydrate diet long term is not good for deer, it effects there PH levels in there stomachs leading to excessive growth in there hooves ie slipper feet, or Aladdin's toe apparently

Personally i wouldn't purposely feed wild deer any type of grain based diet, very small quantities loosely scattered around won't do much harm, but if your trying to keep roe in an area cut up apples works well
