RSPB cats and prey - 100m dead annually

The point of the post was not to expect a licence addition but to clearly display what the RSPB's agenda is - first, to continue paying salaries and buying 'reserves', but also the unmistakable anti shooting agenda which their constitution forbids but which their highly paid management regard as their 'right'.

The public should see them for what they are and make up their own minds. In every post on the RSPB, thanks to Google, this view may well emerge credibly to both those who fund the RSPB innocently and those who have need to take responsibility for their felines. Maybe the Prime Ministers girlfriend will even get there eventually ?

I hate cats. I don't mind if people own house cats but feral cats are a major nuisance. Like feral dogs, they are a generation away from being domestic which makes them wild. I shoot them whenever I get the chance. ~Muir

It might strike anyone in the UK as strange , but I did notice how many cats are wandering around when I was there in 2018 . I suppose it's a normal thing there .

AB
Did you notice how many people were wandering around too?
There are too many cats, too many dogs (too many pheasants come to that) because there are too many people.

That's illegal; so if you get caught, kiss your ticket goodbye. so live and let live and follow the rules. If you can't you shouldn't hold a licence
What's illegal? Why goodbye to ticket, I never said I would shoot them. I live and let live, but feral cats belong to nobody and straying pets often get in snares not too far from home. Stops on snares don't always work on cats.

Feral cats should be classed as vermin IMO, and placed on general license. People's pets are another matter, even if there are too many of them. But given thaht cats are such a menace to wildlife there is no excuse to sentimentalise the feral population. Won't happen of course, in our infantilised, urbanised society. Maybe one day when the population grows up a bit but I won't hold my breath.

They are protected by the Animal Welfare Act. Shoot them and you'll probably lose your licence
all animals are, its against suffering not killing, your argument could be used against killing deer or foxes.
only crime you commit by killing a cat is criminal damage if they can prove you knew the owner wouldnt want you to shoot it, after finding the body and finding you

The same as us , high speed sleeping pills . In Alberta , it's a fineable offence to allow a cat to wander at will , they are a pet . It really isn't a big deal , you don't allow dogs to run around , why is a cat any different ?

AB
Exactly!! Keep the F’ing things indoors!!

Ok, I'm done... You just can't shoot cats

but you can feral cats or cats that you know the owner wont mind can be controlled
As my final word, the cat lovers on here must realise that cats can roam freely, but the owners are liable for any damage caused by their pets.
Eg. A good few poults killed in a pen or any other wrongful act.😾🙀😿
