Hunting knives for kids

Does anyone know where I can buy a fixed blade hunting knife specifically designed for kids? I’m struggling to find anything suitable for my boy as his hands are very small. I don’t really want to go down the custom route as it tends to be very expensive for tools
I may be wrong but I would not let my kids any where near my stalking knives and I have twin boys 27 years old.

My wife says I shouldn’t really have access to my knives.

Abd my (6 year old) son is highly sceptical of my knife handling.

He has his mother’s long suffering eye roll down perfectly. ‘Oh Dad - did you cut yourself AGAIN?!”.

Well if your knives are as sharp as they should be I would not let the kid near them. we all have the occasional accident and if you are going to be there anyway what's the point.
What’s the point of my son having his own knife?
....So that he can learn with a suitable tool of course, not a tool which is designed for adults with much bigger hands. Don’t worry, he’s still working under supervision for now.
If your kids are 27 and still not able to use a knife then I’ll take parenting advice elsewhere thanks.

For the humane culling of kids ,

A 12" Bowie knife will be very humane lol( a quick jugular or heart puncture should be quick )

You don't want the lil beggars suffering , the bigger the better

Sorry I mis read your title lol lol

You want a hunting knife for a kid to use , aahh I get it .........

Jesting aside get a small mora like Klenchie has suggested , teach them the basics with a cheap one

Big or small a knife is still sharp and should treated as such no matter what size , I hope the young in enjoys the learning journey

O we are a bit touchy maybe you should have a kids knife made for yourself. Does your son have a different knife at the dinner table no.

Just to be flippant, if the title is a suggested swap then I have a 15 year old boy that I’d swap for a Loveless drop point Hunter 😉

Have you thought about getting him a knife making kit? You could custom fit the handle then.
To be honest, I thought it would straightforward to find a kids knife somewhere for under £30.
Realistically he will probably eventually lose it so I didn’t want to spend too much time or money on it. Maybe when he’s older we’ll make one or get him a decent one.

That Brisa Bobtail is luvverly. I was too going to suggest an Enzo Necker (now Brisa) and Moonraker sell them in kit form so you could pare down the handle to suit his hands. As for being a kids' knife, it's all the blade you'll ever need for field work on a Roe, absolutely my go-to knife.

Encourage the youngster I say, they are the future.
Ten years ago I would have totally agreed with you in fact I have taught a lot of young boys and girls to shoot shot guns. And two went on to get into the county youth team. But with what is happening in the shooting world today is it worth getting them involved only to have it stopped at some point in THEIR future.

Using a knife properly is not a skill which is exclusive to stalking or shooting. Knives are tools used in many different day to day jobs.
