WARNING..... Hand loading is deemed to be manufactiring ammunition by Lincs Police..

Definatly get a damn good lawyer,i know its costly but if what you say is correct you will at least get your costs awarded and i think lots more. There is no other way.I have delt with good lawyers on many occasions and they are a joy to watch worth every penny. As an example the last case i was involved in it cost the client £3000 but he was awarded almost £40,000 (employment related);)Good luck.

Americans like to think "That couldn't happen here", but they are VERY wrong. The police are the police no matter what the political boundaries are. The police do what they want when they want. When they get "caught" doing something wrong they simply call "foul" and say the "criminals" are "getting off on a technicality". In one sense that is correct: The "technicality" is innocence. People like me are called "radical" and "extreme". I was a sworn Peace Officer for 12 years and I KNOW what the sons of bachelors are capable of, AND that the judges are 'hand in glove' with prosecutors. We have the Second Ammendment. IT MATTERS, but only in the long run. Battles over short term, isolated assaults like these are REALLY tough to "win". I weep for you all, and I weep for us "over here", because we are too naive to realize that "it COULD happen here".

All the best, BH.

This should be a lesson to us all..........always offer your FLO a cuppa when they come round at renewal time.

Have you been to the Doc's with stress yet? Your ribs still hurting? You finding it hard to sleep?
Everything else aside, I'd be down the Doc's ;)

My sympathy goes out to Brit, its when i hear things like this that im glad i keep up my subscriptions to basc.

Lee in my persoanl experience in dealing with BSAC firearms dept in the past when I was a member they will give phone advice, maybe speak to the Police and sometime write to them. I have never known them go to bat in court for anyone. Sorry to tell you that. It has always been left to the individual to sort out their own professional legal adive and representation. The only time I have heard of BSAC going to bat in court when it was a real open and shut case an impossible to lose.

Thankfully there are those who have offered support and advice which i shall be following up next week. I am wih the NGO so will be in touch with them next week too.

This is not his bail address only an address he is allowed to visit during certain times of the day. My mother raised him as a son after my sister basically wanted nothing to do with him. If it was my choice he would not be anywhere near here. However I only live here to care for my parents and have to abide by their wishes.

As to his alleged offences I am not sure what they are as I have as little to do with him as I can. The case against him has been dragging on since January 2010.

Hope you have been to the doc's and have a record of all the attendance. The police are not above the law and if you have suffered due to their incompetence then as the saying goes " where there's pain, there is a claim ".
Next, contact this chap http://www.shootinglaw.co.uk/about.htm (BB) and enquire about the likelihood of recovering all legal costs should you use his services. Then contact your house insurance as you will have legal cover and obviously you will be making a claim for any damages done by the police, your house insurance will also cover you for personal injury claims.

Old-Realtree's advice is good Brit, keep a record of every phone-call, journey to hospital, contact with the police, the time and the name and number of who you speak to that is in any way related to tis travesty. Get photographs of all the damage they cause, and of the damge to you.

I should imagine you will suffer from sleep loss because of the pain, be prone to bouts of anxiety and possibly even tears. Make sure your doctor knows and records it.

Best of luck and give them hell!

My doctors (GP's) are next to useless. So that's a waste of time. Not sleeping is not the issue keeping awake at times is. I find my self falling asleep unless I am busy and the headaches are horrendous at the moment. just brought in another foil of painkillers.

Brit, getting your symptoms documented and onto your notes at the dr's is important!!!!!!!!!!!!! This could affect any claim you have against the police.

Useless or not, you'll not be helping your case unless you get any ailment seen to and at least a record of it made on your file. You can't refer back to any bruising, bouts of pain, sleeplessness, anxiety, stress, etc. etc. in the future unless you get it noted now.

I would be careful around having medical records amended, with anything that looks like any sort of altered state of mind, sleeping disorders etc.

Really well can some one explain how when my certificates were already at Nettleham for renewal and exactly how is a Black and White photo copy with no vacant slots of any use but as a record of the conditions etc on it?

As per normal the BBC is making things up once again as according them that article a Firearms certificate enables one to buy as many as one wishes! how else could he go and replace the seized firearms? A shotgun certificate of course has not limits but it is not a firearms certificate. As mine are coteretminus (spelling?) they ran out together and were submitted for renewal together.
