Salmond v Sturgeon

Is this a dagger that I see before me
The handle toward my hand
Come. Let me clutch thee
I have thee not and yet I see thee still
Art thou ........

So what’s this most of this salmond/sturgeon thing In layman’s terms ?
I know he was acquitted of sex pest type stuff......thought those two were pally ?

Paul

He reckons he was 'fitted -up' and she perjured herself in parliament. No love lost there now.
The parliamentary enquiry which he sought has ruled against hearing most of his critical evidence so he's going public and has credible support for believing a case of sexual harassment of which he was acquitted unanimously was 'created and pursued to destroy him. Or something like that it'll all be in the papers soon anyway !
Sorry, my mistake, I missed out the critical words 'allegedly' twice here., although he was acquitted in court unanimously - whatever that may mean.

Well whatever the great and good are up to at Holyrood, (sounds strangely like Hollywood, hmmm) it will be guaranteed to be nothing for the good of the Scottish people. Squabbling amongst themselves or their predecessors makes it sound more like a Trump administration. If they can shake off this sh*t, all they'll do anyway is pursue policies that they believe in at the expense of what is good for the population and the country.

Wee Krankie may well be in all sorts of poo, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if she wheedles out of it.

He may well have been fitted up, but he probably did do everything his accusers said he did.
I can't see the whole truth coming out - the inquiry committee simply doesn't have the legal powers to make that happen.
The parallel with Trump is interesting - he was by far the worst US president in history- a lazy incompetent lying narcissist - yet 74 million people voted for him, and if he hadn't screwed up covid as badly as he did , he would still be president.
It doesn't matter how badly this goes for fattie and Krankie, the SNP will still rake in the votes at the next election.
Like the MAGA mob, the SNP voters are essentially members of a cult

Cheers

They're not going to vote in anyone who makes them pay for prescriptions/education and their own way .
Someone already suggested they have a year without Westminster stipend to see how independence pans out .
Can you imagine wee krankie without the ability to blame Englandshire for her financial cock ups now that will be funny to watch.

The widespread corruption of many elements within the Scottish Political Establishment, Paul - the actual spat is pointing this out, but many haven’t yet considered the wider implications for Scottish society;

He reckons he was 'fitted -up' and she perjured herself in parliament. No love lost there now.

And the rest, surely! Don’t you think all who conspired in his attempted downfall should equally be held to account/equally face justice??

It may well be so Bruce, but just because the corruption collusion and conspiracy aren’t looked for, it does neither mean it did not happen nor that they will be dogged by such matters until they are fully considered in turn? Do we not expect better from those we pay for in the upper parts of society, and for which we pay?

McKie’s letter basically tells them that he knows that the Commission are a shambles and unfit to uphold and report the investigation, he just uses more and somewhat more diplomatic words to convey his contempt for them, all the same, he is ensuring they get the subtext, as such. Indeed, he is right. Consider the whole truth, alongside the ‘Diplomat’s affidavit, and tell me there’s nothing more to see than some pathetic power game afoot, quite apart from the criminality?

From over this side of the Irish Sea it seems she has little to worry about, if she does have to fall on her sword she can always follow her doppler in to Panto, after all she has plenty of experience! And as for “he’s behind you” I think Slippery Salmond is perfect for it too. Just saying.

That's odd, because the SNP were leading supporters of Trump's schemes in Scotland. How conveniently forgetful of them.
I see the SNP want to investigate Donald Trump's finances (in Scotland)

I trust Westminster will investigate the SNP's finances and look at where the SNP have been stashing the money that Westminster has sent them.

That will be a can of worms well worth opening :)

The problem with this is:
We all know that the SNP and the operations of the Scottish Government are a disgraceful shambles, but there's no imaginable prospect of any credible penalty. The Scottish Government isn't going to lose any powers. No civil servant will be held to account. No politician will either. In most Scottish seats, they'd elect a dog turd if it wore a SNP rosette.

Actually, they very quickly fell out after the golf course in Aberdeenshire was built and further schemes of Trump's were vetoed. Trump, as usual, took the huff when he didn't get his own way.

They still welcomed him with open arms and interfered in the proper processes to advantage him. It's a matter of record. The fact that they changed their mind after the rest of the told them Trump was a tool does nothing to alter their poor judgment and misdeeds.

Your wording suggested, to me, that everything was rosy between both camps until this investigation, I merely clarified that it was not.

Aye and I am sure that no thick, brown, dollar-shaped envelopes ever changed ownership either!

My apologies. I intended to convey that they'd been only too keen to welcome Trump - inappropriately keen - regardless of what their later opinions were once it was made clear to them that the rest of the world thought Trump was a tool. I certainly didn't intend to convey any suggestion that the SNP wouldn't ditch any previous conviction if they saw an electoral advantage in it.

I viewed this thread given the title in the hope it was a video of the pair of them in a boxing ring 😊
Excellent - do lets continue this pugilistic theme (she does look like she has caught more than a few straight jabs after all) - a la “Thriller in Manilla” and “Rumble in the Jungle”! Can I offer “Died on the Clyde”?

At one time I thought she was toast, but.....
They are after all politicians and given the Westminster expenses scandle where MP's just paid the money back ( you or I prison) they will get away with it. Somebody mentioned a pickle, had pickled herrings but never salmon or sturgeon.
