Annoyed beyond words.....

Now i'm a bit worried, was this in shropshire or on the ground they have down south? I think I know the chap you are talking about and if he is taking shots over the boundary then he is poaching on ground that i stalk.
For £200 a year and a further £60 a stalk you could get plenty of stalking. I suggest you look at some of the guys that advertise on here as they wouldn't have lasted this long if they weren't doing it right. Do me a favour and PM me the chaps name and let me know where it was. I promise I won't involve you if I need to speak to the chap.

Very well written but IMO you havent given them enough time to respond. These things require close examination of all the facts. Your OP was at about 12 yesterday, I dont know what time you sent the letter above but it must have been today, I dont think its fair to expect a response on the same day to these events being reported to the club. I know we live in a rapid response world these days but some things are worth getting right before responding in haste.
Its obvious that whats happened is deplorable and, at the least, you should get a refund, an apology and a promise that the procedures for subsequent stalkers will be reviewed.
I dont have anything to do with the club mentioned and dont know anyone involved with it.

It is in Salop. I have never seen him take shots beyond the boundary of the estate, I may be angry but would never deliberately lie to cause someone trouble.

I own four businesses besides my working for a wildlife management company and if I received any complaint that endangered my living I would be on it like a rash the same day. We all know that customer service is the most important part of any enterprise. The fact is that this club is only driven by money, I have been in contact with other people over this incident and the consensus is that it is a two tier club. If you know the estate manager then you will be rewarded with a good stalking experience. If not then expect a hike with a rifle and a high seat at the end of the day after paying your membership and "stalking" fee. Should a deer wander out then you will get a shot. Is this how stalking should be? I think not.

well funny thing is they are who i thought of from the very start!!..and me being all the way up here!..i looked at their web site a while back when they first got the site for range use, wasn't it bought off the government??..and now they charge the goverment to use it??..anyway to me when i first seen the adds in all the magazines and the web site it seemed to me the way they advertised it for £150 per year (at the time) was to give "good reason" to have firearms (i wonder how many paid just for the letter of membership and never turned up!!)..and when the deer stalking "CLUB!...was advertised my thoughts were that they now had enough money to buy/lease land for deer for them selfs, and that the bonus of this would be is that like the range there would be alto of people that would pay just to be a member so they could get "deer condition" on there certificate....of course i could be wrong but i often wounder how many people have paid them and not turned up???..my thoughts are with you straight liner you turned up but you did not shoot THEIR DEER!!..THEY DID!!!!

sounds more like a patrol though sangin helmand province rather than a stalk
sounds like the other chap cant shoot let alone at 375 yards i would have unloaded his rifle for him and pointed him home then had a finger pointing session with the so called stalker maybe recomend a book or two as he has no idea what stalking is all about and needs to learn

I am sure I have missed the point to this thread  but is anyone else on here shooting Fallow in June :???:

Huntsman in response to your question I believe after a lot of depression Phil stepped infront of a truck in Scotland and was killed instantly.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Thanks for that, i didn't know him that well but he seemed a decent bloke. Rip.

Huntman.
Is this the guy at Minsterly that looked like a Hells Angel? If so i am shocked. He was a nice bloke, always up for a chat and really helpfull. I heard he had some problems, but no idea that it had led to mental health issues.
Just goes to show it can happen to anyone.
I noted his abscence on my trips to the range but assumed he had just moved on.
Yorkie.

Yes, that's the lad I was thinking it was too. I was a member there for only a year about 8 years ago, but made an occasioal trip back. he would have been only starting there around then.

Wow I am shocked at this news, didnt know Phil all that well other than through Dave Madely who also used to be a stalker at this deer club him and Phil were like a double act. I spent three days doing my DSC 1 with him and he was not someone who I ever thought would suffer from depression.

I agree sounds real unprofessional running and chasing with a loaded weapon.
then gut shooting the beast. Name & shame.
