What’s happening here

Compressed charges don't do this IMHO.
More likely your brass is over annealed.
Case capacity can vary greatly between makes and even different batches of the same make.
Once again if you change any components work up again.

As above.

For next time (I have no confidence in the integrity of the "once fired and annealed" brass you have bought).

Get yourself a 7mm Pilot for the AMP Annealer Mk II machine.

Then you just need to find someone with that AMP Annealer Mk II machine and send them to him...along with a decent malt and ridiculous cigar.

It's a tough one - your eyes and hands and general health are more important than any brass so I wouldn't take any risks with these dodgy cases - I suggest empty them and dispose of them.
of course

its just the two rounds and the usual visual and chambering test caught it out My goodness if it had been more subtle

Interestingly i have a worked up compressed load for my .375 and its extraordinarily accurate

Oh and BTW in SAAMI and 500 rounds on still herre

All my loads for my .375 are compressed with no issues, compression is not an issue.
Did you chamfer the case mouths?

Buy some new Norma brass.... this is not over annealing that’s very hard to do unless you soften the base of the case. I think Eric cortina had cases in the flame for 20-30 seconds and still got good neck tension.

THIS is a ridiculous cigar.

Otherwise I would simply stop annealing commercially availlable cases. The belief in the myth is greater than its actual benefit.
I promise you this is true.

2003 found me and an Irish mate, in Australia for the rugby.

My mate was a smoker and loved a cigar on a big occasion. The Rugby World Cup was such an occasion.

So an Englishman an Irishman walk into a Australian cigar emporium which was run by a Kiwi.

We sat in the leather sofas and lit up a couple of massive lardies.

In walked an American and order the cigars in your photograph.

He settled into his chair with a glass of something wonderful and began to enjoy his smoke.

It took a couple of minutes before everyone realised he had all three stuffed into his mouth and was valiantly trying to inhale all of them at once.

Got to love a Yank on tour...
