Perfect rifle combo?!

.22lr
A .22 Centrefire and a
.30 calibre (of some sort)

Not a list of what I have which seems to be what many are posting but if had choose a combo of three this would be it.

IF it were to be one calibre it would be 6mm (.243) but would need to be prepared to lose some of my dinner where small game are concerned. 😎

Um.
.22 FAC air
.22 lr
.22 lr S/A
.22 LBP
.22 WMR
.22 WMR S/A
.357 under lever
.357 LBR
.22 k hornet
.223 AI
25-45 Sharps
6.5 creedmoor
6.5x55 SE
.308 Win
7.5 x 55
.280 rem

that should cover everything out to 1000 yards in the UK….
That's more like it . The thought of owning four rifles make my chest feel tight .......... I'm better now .

If I had to , I could get by with a 22lr , a pump 12 gauge and a 30/06 ............ but I don't , so I won't .

22 LR
22 Hornet
204
243
308

if I had to have just 5 😱 I think I’ll hide the 222 under the floorboards.:rofl::rofl::rofl:

1. .17HMR
2. .22WMR
3. .243
4. .308
5. Keep the .22LR or cabinet space?
I only want 4 rifles 5 max. As don't want a bigger safe. Any input on how to better this combo?
Get rid of the .22FAC and .22-250 for the .243 and .308?

I guess it depends what you like to shoot, and what best suits that. What can you live without ?

Personally, I'd get a bigger safe

I slimmed down a few years ago, I had far to many guns 14 to be precise.

I had 2 ruger 10/22's

Marlin Cowboy in .357/38 nice but a pain to reload

Rossi Break action in .38/357 utter garbage

SMLE in .303

Enfield Enforcer (bitsa) in 7.62

Ruger 77 compact .223 with Ase Utra Mod

Ugarthecaya 12 bore horrible in every way

Winchester model 12 that was knackered but it sold for a bomb as it was originally from the armoury of the RMS the Carpathia

Mossberg 500 in .410 I gave up on 410 after it kept bouncing off stuff and stinging me in the shins

CZ452 scout and CZ452 Varmint the varmint was so inaccurate it made a Ruger look like a match rifle

Less is more, for me my CZ455 Anschutz 54 match and Lincoln 20 bore is enough. (for the time being)

Hopefully when I get my permission a .22k Hornet and eventually a .308 or .243 I remember an article a while ago about the 6.5 swede which claimed to be a great allrounder as you can create various loads from fox up to deer.
this tempts me as I like the idea of a "do all" centrefire.
Looks good especially the inclusion of a 6.5 - so long as you don’t make the common mistake of thinking the “Swede” is the modern 6.5x55 rather it is the much older military version and for those who do not know it - the modern is the very versatile 6.5x55SE (sometimes aka SKAN).

I’m not even considering trimming to 3 or 4 or 5 . If I can get down to twenty shotguns , twelve rifles and a couple handguns my work is done . I spent fifty years accumulating refining accumulating and refining some more . So I ain’t about to give them up yet . All the ones I listed above are surprise surprise in my possession as we speak . Did fail to say the 700 5R is a 260 . Still seven more rifles I don’t care to let go . And getting into the shotgun swing of things oh Jesus Mary and Joseph , off the top of my head I’m at about twenty six doubles I’m not ready to part with and perhaps a pump and an autoloader . The pistols I can get down to three PDQ my grandfathers Colt Scout Buntline Special 22LR and a pair of Kimber 1911 45’s .
