That probably has already happened, but pig farming is a production line that relies on the end product heading for the factory at regular intervals, they dont have the facilities to stockpile finished product and profit margins are razor thin at the best of times. You can’t just turn production up or down like a tap.
Your poultry farmers will be in similar bother.

The crap state the world is in largely due to overpopulation, yet no one seems to have the guts to bring in some way to limit the number of children people have. I would have thought that two per family would have been enough yet I see those who produce five or six kids. It really baffles me!
