Heavy duty gambrel recommendations

I use a folding one from DDM. I'm guessing you are after something a bit bigger but it's a great bit of kit and will last a lifetime.

Evening all,

Looking for recommendations on a heavy duty gambrels

Cheers

Hoop gambrel from B&D Stalking. Nice size - recon you could hang a buffalo off it too.

Won’t get better than these for the money 👍

This ^^^. If you’re looking for heavy duty, it may be because you have or anticipate having heavy animals to larder; those gambrels on the market with a rounded loop atop are much, much easier to hoist deer on and off a rail system without the hoist hook getting snagged against the rail hook:

The lower one in the pic below are inconvenient by comparison:

If you look on the Donninton Deer Mgt page linked higher up the page you will see the best of both worlds!! Kinked and a hoop welded on top. Makes it very easy to transfer from hoist to chiller hook etc without hooks crossing over or getting caught.

@Tim.243 - I'm not sure many folk have the ability to source small quantities / cut / heat / bend 12mm stainless bar. Yep, it's a doddle if you have the facilities (or know someone who has) but for most folk it's easier just to pay seven quid a pop and have a ready made product delivered :(

Fine, but the OP asked for a heavy duty gambrel option, It is not my fault the will or want has gone out of most things these days....A bit of 10mm stainless as I first posted will go around cold or hot
I am sure you posted your rail height solution back some time ago? 4x2 on the diagonal? You can't get that in the post...

Their are plenty who make B&Q quad sticks for 12 quid instead of 120 which both can snap.
