Pulsar c50

I’ve found with the mag on 7x and the Srx on flood , the whole of the screen is well light up, and gives a great picture 👍

Yes I sort of discovered that last night and it worked a treat , to be honest I’m still playing with different settings and finding new little quirks/tips for myself.
i also found last night the lens on my SRx actually steamed up ? Never had or known of that ever happening probably just a one off , was a bit misty last night and temp did drop .

As a bit of additional info in general as we've been asked a few times now about this...

If you only really use it (or any similar low base mag digital NV scope) with some digital mag applied then a standard Dark Engine will fill the field of view at 7-8x magnification and has 50-75% more total power output than it's contemporaries...while being lighter, smaller and cheaper. If you go wider the standard Dark Engine will start to exhibit darkening of the centre of the beam.

If you want to utilise the wide FOV base mag completely, then the Dark Engine ID will fill that base field of view. evenly with no darkening of the centre of the beam. It still has the ability to focus tighter for the higher magnification, but doesn't have the same total output power as the standard Dark Engine.

I expect the range you shoot at will ultimately determine the magnification you need and the most suitable IR for your circumstances.

An illuminator with a bigger lens won't help. The bigger lens just enables the beam to be more tightly focussed...which is not what is required with these scopes. Lower powered beams focused more tightly look brighter...hence the confusion.

Cheers

I was doubting putting my name down for one of these scopes but after seeing that video I cannot wait for it to arrive.

What I will say is the C50 is so easy to use when used in the field when your in thick of it And your nerves / excitement is nipping at your heels , Take no notice of my clip , I totally over complicated it , but I’m a techno retard I’m now starting to see the scope is just easy and pretty straight forward . and I’m getting there 😂 I never thought I would say this and yes I know I only bought it as an NV scope , I wasn’t really interested in it’s day use , as long as I was able to get a good image at 100 m to zero I was good to go , however…. Im actually looking forward to those late summer’s evening when I can dump it on top of my 6.5 and sort those long range bunny’s out .

Had a look at a Wulf last night directly against a pard 008 mounted side by side

Straight away the Wulf is looking ke the ATN displays letterbox 16:9 style and feels as if it’s away down other end of the scope with a big black border ….. that’s it ruled out for me straight away
Yes picture was sharp and clear
BUT
We were looking at sheep in dark on false skyline
The Wulf showed them beautifully but everything behind and above immediately black no details ….
Look thru the pard 008
Same good clear pic of the sheep but could also see the parks behind and the boundary fence away behind in distance .
And pard has closer larger 4:3 style more square screen that I look for

I’m guessing pulsar will be same circa what Ian’s Blackwoods comments were

Looks like the Pard 008 is still the winner, but I just prefer the standard way of mounting the scope, hence currently use the ATN 4K pro, which may have to stay that way for awhile longer yet.

Question for the guys with a c50…..
When charging the inbuilt battery from the wall socket via the cable, is there an indicator to show its charging at all (nothing showing on the screen icon, no flashing or anything etc)?
