Poor Chwis - the nasty court of appeal has dismissed wild justices appeal again

As the BBC actually make the programmes rather than commission them or buy them in, surely the presenters must be employed by the BBC, it's probably just a Tax dodge to say they are self employed, in fact the BBC got into a lot of bother doing this a few years ago. Michaela Strachan lives in South Africa, so the pay must be quite good for her to do a commute that long.
One other thing that baffles me, is that packham states he is the Stepfather of Megan McCubbin, (who he has nicely shoe-horned into the programmes he is in), which he can only claim to be if he is actually married to her mother, so is he secretly married?

Mr Packham isn’t employed by the BBC. His company is commissioned by them to make wildlife programs of which he as is the presenter. That’s the response you get from BBC when they receive a complaint as to why they are employing a political activist and giving them airtime in furtherance of their political objective.
Doesn’t explain why he pops up on various outdoorsy type programs such as the recent one in orkneys history for which he has zero qualifications other than a talking head.
What he does have is a fan base which he mobilises effectively and makes him attractive to London centric luvvies who commission these programs.
Megan mccubbin appears to be following the well worn route of being shoehorned in to try and build up her media profile as a springboard for her own career. And we as licence payers pay for it.
A strongly worded letter to the BBC on mr Packham being supported by them in his campaigns in breach of their duty of impartiality will have minimal effect. But you will get back a letter as they tie themselves in knots justifying it.

Which is why I stopped paying for mine last year.

Now with the Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries taking a stand; it seems that I have merely set a trend, five years ahead of the 2027 deadline.

You are welcome.
I hope that as an ex Fed you are not breaking the law by watching without a licence. I chucked mine out when they stopped my free licence.😇

Can anyone provide me a date for the refusal to Jr the burning - I thought it was the middle of last year to disrupt the burning season this ?

Yes, the original claim last year for a JR was more timely. This thread is a bit out of date now, down at the bottom of the page where WJ were finally denied leave to appeal on December 1st.
They have other irons in the fire now, but might have another stab at this. I think that's where things stand at the mo..:)
