Beretta BRX1

It’s nothing to do with the take up. They did expect demand. Someone would have one now even if the demand was massive. There is a recall, despite some agents denying it. They’ve screwed the pooch on this.

How you liking it?
Not shot it yet, hopefully zero tomorrow. I just picked up some federal to throw through it. Next up start load development with some yew tree bullets.

First impressions:
Still love the action, very slick, good weight balance with scope. A tad front heavy with the wildcat evo. Trigger is good, a tiny bit of creep. I think it’s going to be a cracking workhorse rifle.

One negative is the eye relief on my scope forces me forward meaning I need to lift my head when cycling the bolt, I could raise it and move it back but it looks correct on the rifle. However maybe this would be the same with any straight pull. I do have my scopes a fair way back, probably too much shotgun shooting!

Looking correct on the rifle and being correct for your build are different.
I would always set the scope to be correct for you. That means when you put your cheek on the stock your eye is in the correct place so you don’t have to hunt around. Um, was that an egg sucking moment?

Anyhow, I was at the show, loved the design of the bolt because I’m a left hander. Not so keen on the stock but I could live with it and to be honest, at some point someone will make a nice aftermarket stock for it. All in all a thumbs up from me.

I was talking to a dealer friend this morning he received one yesterday “it’s crap if I can get rid of it I won’t be ordering another” we’re his polite words.

Yeah completely agree, I’ve got some hawke tactical ring mounts (not my normal go to, I usually use Warne, but it was all they had). So I’ll get it mounted up with those and see how it goes.

Well you know what they say, opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one. Personally I quite like it. Wait and see if it shoots straight now!

Looks good! How’s the tang safety? Often felt the Blaser/Sauer ones can be a bit fiddly.

And that cows head upside down just looks weird! 😂😂😂

I’m not the biggest fan of those safeties either, I can live with it lets put it that way. I wouldn’t say it’s fiddly, it is quite positive.

I put the Hawke mounts on the gun, dropped the scope in and decided I’m not clamping that POS on my scope! So no shooting this weekend while I sort new mounts.

Very!

The Hawke are better than those warne imo. I’ve a pet hate of the Warne they work but so much hassle with them compared to others.
