Hawke warranty

Hi all

I'm in the market for a lower budget set of bins for general use and stalking. Specifically looking at some of the hawke ED options.

In my budget vortex offer their diamondback range which are not optically as good but do offer an unbeatable warranty.

I note hawk are offering what they call a lifetime warranty but wondered of anyone had any experience with them as a brand and their customer service for things like accidental damage.

Vortex offer their warranty on a no questions asked basis so you can really lean on the kit without fear.

Any thoughts appreciated :)

NB: Whilst I appreciate swarovski are amazing they are not in my budget

I've been very impressed by their service. My old Hawke 'Black Watch' 8x42s would no longer focus properly. I sent them in for repair, but because they no longer stocked the necessary parts for repair and the binoculars were well out of warranty (bought long before the lifetime cover was introduced) they instead offered me a 50% discount on several new models. I received a pair of Nature Trek 8x42 for £74.50 instead of £149 which I thought was pretty decent considering there was no obligation to offer anything. The whole interchange of emails and replacement was done within a week ! I'm also very pleased with the clarity of the glasses - take them everywhere ! Would thoroughly recommend. I think the Hawke warranty covers accidental damage too. I'll check and edit this post if I'm wrong. - Have checked, it is an unconditional warranty

A couple of years ago I had a problem with a Hawke scope. It was well over a year old and the IR had stopped working. I phoned them on a Thursday morning and they told me to post it to them, which I did the same day. Got a call the following day, Friday, to say that it was not reapairable and they were posting me a new one free of charge. It arrived the following morning! Now that's what I call customer service.

Can't argue with that sort of service! It is interesting to see more and more optics companies offering these lifetime warranties now

I've always had exceptionally good service from Hawke Optics, never quibble if anything goes wrong (which it very rarely does). Hawke scopes have come on in leaps and bounds over the years and offer very good value for money.

I left a pair of binoculars hanging from a highseat for well over a month last the winter. They got a right battering in the wind and rain and ended up out of collimation. I returned them to Hawke under the lifetime warranty and had a brand new pair sent to me within a few days. Very impressed, no quibbling at all.

if you have the original receipt they will sort it out,if you are not the original purchaser you will be out of luck! their warranty says life time to original buyer.

Another thumbs up to Hawke. I returned a vantage scope with a dodgy ret a few years ago. They even let me upgrade it to the next level up. Because they go by full RRP value of the vantage, the cost of the upgrade was minimal as I originally paid a lot less than RRP.
Just check what is covered by the lifetime warranty. Unlike Vortex, only some items are covered. Range finders for example are not covered.

i had a hawke sidewinder scope which the parallax was way out
they replaced it with a new tested unit within the week
very helpful and willing to help with any of there products
