Heads up about Smartwool Socks

Just thought I would worn members about the very poor service from Smartwool
i have 3 pairs of the mountain version of Smartwool socks.All 3 pairs have gone slack and the cushioning on the heels are like bog paper.Only had them since December.1st pair I just threw in the bin.But the Mrs said complain to them.So I did.
3 weeks and many emails exchanged they are still messing about.Smartwool said complain to the retailer I did.Retailer said you need to speak to smartwool.Just checked reviews about Smartwool not good.They use to make good quality socks.But sadly like many firms these days quality gone down price gone up.

Sorry to hear.

Might not be any consolation but Darn Tough socks are backed by an unlimited warranty. I’ve not had to claim but have seen at least one member here claim and have no issues!

Can confirm Smartwool have taken a dive.

Had several pairs rip at the heel. And the proportion of nylon to wool seems to have gone up markedly.

I gave up on Smartwool socks several years ago. They never seemed to be the quality product they made them out to be or were charging for.
I found that the Trail Socks from Costco had a better wool content and were the same price for 4 pairs as 1 pair of Smartwool and they lasted longer.

The Costco merino socks aren’t bad at all. Been using them for years.

I find them a bit 'meh' to be honest. They seem develop holes quite quickly.
But they are comfortable.

I had a pair many moons ago and they were fine.But the latest ones are over priced rubbish
