Trail camera with mms

I can see that a camera with MMS might be of use in a yard or around buildings, but surely if you put it out in a wood and it texts you every time a fox or badger walks by or a bird flies past or a gust of warm air sets it off it will cost you a fortune.

Over here in Norway we have a "friends & family" option where you can send texts & MMS free between the members :D don't the UK have something similar?

Nightwalker beat me to it...... ive had 100s of pics triggered by blades of grass or branches blowing in the wind, if i had recieved a txt every time........

Yeah, that would be an eye opener when you got the bill

Just for the record you can adjust the sensitivity of the sensor on the model I bought, I've got it overlooking a very grassy area at the moment and sensitivity is set to normal so we'll see on Thursday when I check the memory card how often it was set off.

I've only received 3 MMS since Sunday so it seems to be working ok and not taking continuous pics.

if bought from over seas can it be used in britain by say orange or t mobile and does the camera require a sim card aswell as a memory card, and can it be set to send pics to your email address and would the same charges apply as an mms..eddie

Hi Eddie,

Yes even if bought from outside the UK you can just set it up manually to work with your mobile phone provider.

You need to purchase a simcard for the camera and also an SD memory card.

It can also send to an email address, i'm not sure if this will have the same charges as an MMS though, best check this with your phone provider!

I've just looked at the software it came with and it has the following UK Mobile Operators already set-up:

T-Mobile
O2
Vodafone
Orange
3
Virgin
Tesco Mobile
ASDA Mobile
BT Mobile

others can be added by inputting the info. manually.

sounds very good, we have used a spypoint and bushnelss for years but spend a lot of time running round checking them so this might be an option
