My name is Emily, I'm 23 and I'm based on the Nottingham Derby border.

Unfortunately since I was 13 I developed a neurological condition that ruled my life for years and meant I missed out on many things other take for granted, like the ability to drive, or attend university to do the career of my dreams.
However, despite this I am actually grateful for this turn of events, as it led me to my current work as a Taxidermist running my own business.

Taxidermy in turn sparked my interest in all types of field sports, and eventually deer stalking.
I've had the opportunity to work with the picking up team during the feather game season, which I adore and have learnt so much from.
And thanks to groups like this I'm hoping to dip my toe into the world of stalking.

I'm interested in learning more about all aspects of the stalk, as well as understanding my target. I'm not afraid to get stuck in with preparing a deer after thanks to my history in butchery and now Taxidermy.

I'm looking for the opportunity of someone that can help me make my dream a reality. Someone that is understanding of my health and limitations, and is willing to work with a complete novice to rifle shooting, but has the passion and motivation to try.

Discovered this group thanks to the support of the Ladies Deer Stalking UK

Welcome to the site Emily. I hope someone on here will offer help to you. However if this does not occur I can offer you a day with me in West Sussex later this winter on Fallow.
Anyway I am sure some of the members on here will offer an opportunity nearer to your home.

Welcome to the site and to deer stalking.

Well done you! Welcome from NI and I am certain that in no time you will have an SD member or two giving you every opportunity to enjoy deer and stalking.

Hi Emily, welcome to the site. Perhaps a little far, and not sure if you can drive, but if so come over and I will try to help. Near Stamford, South Linc's.
PM me if you want.

Welcome Emily and well done for running your own taxidermy business. There are quite a few disabled shooters out there including myself and while you do come across issues you sometimes havent thought about, having a positive mental attitude is a major factor in overcoming them. I have worked as a firearms instructor in the US and UK and would be happy to help , feel free to message me. Kind Regards Mark.

Welcome Emily. Looks like you have great offers of help from 7upwestmids & sikamalc who would be a great guys to go out and spend a day with. Unfortunately I am a quite a long way away in sunny Suffolk, but if you ever get down this way I would be happy to share what little knowledge I have and take you out on a stalk.

Hi and welcome

I’m in no doubt the SD membership will come good on your request.

As an aside, if not already aware would you please inform “Ladies Deer Stalking UK” that the British Sporting Rifle Club (https://bsrc.co.uk/) welcomes sporting rifle enthusiasts from all walks of life and strives for a gender neutral approach to all its range and match day offerings.

Put another way we would love to see more Ladies with an interest in sporting rifle join the BSRC.

K
