Now you've pointed it out ............................................................................

have you noticed how old this thread is ????????????????

A bow in a skilled presons hands is just as deadly as any rifle, britains have a long history of bow hunting and to have that history removed by hippies is a bit unfortunate. A bow may not be deadly at 200 yards, but that is the appeal of the bow hunt; It is a far more personal and sometimes difficult method of hunting small and medium game to stalk and get within 50 yards of an animal, to smell it and look it in the eye is what we are after, I am a big rifle hunter, but I am also a big bow hunter they are two very different experiences and should not be compared.

I miss read the thread as bbw hunting and thought i was going to get some great tips on trapping some lovely lardy ladies.![]()

Happy hunt
I often agree with this statement
but some times opening old threads with relevant info can be an assest
Your first post should be an introduction, not to comment on a three year old thread that will do nothing but cause controversy. I really do doubt your motives for being here.

That was quick...
But I do agree... make yourself known it's the best way
I,m not long back from California, and went to the mountains to visit an uncle and aunt of mine....one night there were a few wild turkeys going around the town.....and seemingly they can only be hunted with a bow. My uncle told me there a couple walking around with arrows through their necks.......
bow hunting was not made illegal in the uk but bows were taken off the list of approved weapons by the home office.
using a bow 55lb to 70lb to hunt deer and other game I use a compound bow it is pin point accurate ( i go to other countries for this) it is very humane. most game is shot at quite close range so no mistaking identification of animals .Using a broad head point the arrow passes right through the animal causing massive haemorrage and death. If an animal has started to move you would not chance a shot it must be in the right position for the shot or you don,t shoot. As for it being bad news for deer in the uk if it was made legal it would be governed by the british bow hunters association , and you would have to sit an exam and pass before you could hunt and be proficent with a bow.It is the same in all legal countries around the world.
I have hunted game with rifles of legal caliber and even shot through the heart a deer can still run up to a 120 yards or so before droping same with a bow. In my view a bow in the hands of a trained shooter is just as humane as a rifle.
This is only your second post, and both are concerned with bow hunting. I am begining to spot a theme here where is your introduction?
