has anyone got any pointers for a load using a r8
Supplier has given me a load to try just looking for alternatives if that doesn’t work

In my R8 with 600mm barrel N150 37.8gr 68th off the lands or N555 43.2 gr 75th off both work well. The ES is better with theN555 I think the precision is limited by me but around 0.275 subject to particularly poor operator error ! I don't understand why powder selection affects seating depth but there is a lot I don't understand.

Have you put them through a chrograph? Doing some load development at the moment 114grn tlr 38 grns vit N150 chronograph avg 2783. No pressure signs so going to up the charge. Rifle R8 found 50tho off lands wouldn't fit in magazine so pushed them back to fit

N 150 37.8gr 2837 and N 555 2851 with a 24 in. barrel The R8 magazine is a pain and quite limiting I find. The solution I am trying is a 6.5x55 mag insert, it has worked well but only tried it once so far and I can't advise on any safety issues which may exist. Fixes the load length issue with ease but the yew trees seem to settle in the region of -60 to -75 I have found. I am going to try a little longer lengths now ive got the magazine space.

Bit of a difference, going to push charge up to 40grn

42.3 I have tried 42.5 but saw little gain in velocity and slight deterioration in group size. The ES with the N 555 was exceptional, several charges between 2 and 7 fps ! not seen anything like that before. ES was not a predictor of precision the 7 fps spread gave the best grouping. The VV load data shows charges that I can not get into a case and still seat a bullet but does not indicate compressed loads I run into compressing loads at around 43.4 gr.

First test loads. 112 grn hollow point 6.5 creedmoor vit 150. 50 thou of lands

Hi did using a 6.5 x55 insert work. I’m trying to get closer to the lands and was thinking of trying this idea
