Ok thanks for the positive replyNo not at all, at 17 weeks it only needs to know it’s name and not to crap on the carpet! Far too many people rush training, you’re more likely to ruin a pup by rushing.
People do!you have to be a real special kind of idiot to have ruined a pup at just 17 weeks old !
That's old school thinking. I started my flat coat at 8 weeks - the day I got him. At 6 months he's turning into a champ.ask a pro to train a dog for you under 6mnths old and few will. more will say no till its a year old
I think the year old thing with pros is time is money and at that age they can train them quickly as they can absorb more training quickly. That's old school thinking. I started my flat coat at 8 weeks - the day I got him. At 6 months he's turning into a champ.
Otherwise you've got a dog whose learned that he can do bugger all and get away with it. Try training that out!
Don’t disagree. I was explaining my understanding of why pros start at a more advanced age.I wouldn't agree with that. Learning is learning. With a pup you need to build trust and the awareness of "if I do this..."
By the age of 9, your dog is in retirement so you can start on day 56, or day 365 - it's up to you.
Then we're on the same page.Don’t disagree. I was explaining my understanding of why pros start at a more advanced age.
how many working champion flat coats exist in the uk at present ? My comment you will find are well founded if you phone around. That's old school thinking. I started my flat coat at 8 weeks - the day I got him. At 6 months he's turning into a champ.
