Vacancy: FE Wildlife Ranger

In regards to the wages, if you already live in the area they are not to bad, but to relocate to an expensive area would be difficult. £31 k is prob the average wage around where I live, it not a bad area and no one still has a toilet down the bottom of the garden, so quite modern 😊

A wise sage once told me as regards a keeper stalker stalker way of life or career “ did I realise at the end of this, for most there is nothing, maybe a grace and favour house (damp) if you are lucky” things a little different now but definitely a trade off , for those that choose to follow their star.🤷‍♂️

As a thought a vicars salary For Church of England is under £30k with house and god on your side. Amen.
The biggest (??) landowner in the country....pays that? .... there are plenty of vicars (an uncle) paid substantially more- so at least they get incremental pay scales and promotions. Not sure they get taxed on it however.

Need to pay them enough to keep them out of mischief.

Indeed, the lord works in mysterious ways and fallen women must be saved and the wicked punished.

I wonder what FE will do when they are taken to court by somebody without a dog who didnt get a job offer and feels they are being discriminated against.

If you don't want a pay cut, don't apply for the job, unless it really means a lot to you to do it. Simples.
I'm speaking as someone who made a lifestyle choice when I was very young. I've never earned anything like the amount stated in that job advert (I'm 50 now), but I've thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of what I do. Had I made a choice based on income I would probably be in a very different place now, and not half so happy. Every business decision I've ever made has been based on how much enjoyment I'll get out of doing something, not how much money it'll make me.
I'm sure there are plenty of other hard-working folk out there with a similar mindset who'd love that job, regardless of the wage.
100% snap. I'm skint, but I bounce out of bed raring to go because I chose a job I love doing.
