Tawny Owls must be loadedBetting is what's behind the headless poults that are found in pens soon after they are delivered. The one who returns to camp with the most heads takes the pot.

it can easily be stopped via proper Police work and some worthwhile sentencing in court . too many puny sentences and too poor and too little Police interest in even doing any investigation ! Before anyone jumps down my throat that's the facts here!
Must be kind of freaky when the coppers actually get to grips with them but then we have Magistrates who view the perpetration of such events like some sort of socialist robin hood , when its really a callous crime connected more to Gambling than feeding their hungry family . If you do get a copper they dont want to get involved !
Be good to be fair to have a fish and game dept here in the uk !

Well done to the officers involved in this - getting it to court being a pretty big hurdle Though I suspect bettween now and the next court appearance there may be an increase in activity north Lancashire / south Cumbria Keep your eyes open on your grounds...www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk
No evidence that I am aware of that suggests the Police consider it to be a "victimless" crime.I suppose the Police regard poaching of deer as a victimless crime because the deer belong to no one whereas hare coursing may result in criminal damage to crops, fencing, gates, etc.
If that's true, it's the first time I have come across it.Betting is what's behind the headless poults that are found in pens soon after they are delivered.

As Ronin said " getting it to court was a pretty big hurdle" Well getting a copper out is a bigger one in my direct experience. Looks like a lucky car pull ?
Wouldn't bother phoning next time personally speaking
Very strange, I've seen Owl's, Kites, Stoats, Hedgepigs, badgers all take the heads from penned poults, i didnt know these animals placed bets.Betting is what's behind the headless poults that are found in pens soon after they are delivered. And they don't leave marbles and ball bearings behind on the deck either.Very strange, I've seen Owl's, Kites, Stoats, Hedgepigs, badgers all take the heads from penned poults, i didnt know these animals placed bets.
Agreed but marble throwers dont leave the bird minus head. Ive been at this game to long to listen to hearsay from pikey haters. Gamekeeper have been finding headless poults since game rearing started and less now than in the middle to late part of the 20th centaury. The trouble is that a lot of shooting folk are no more than paying to kill and no little of the countryside and modern gamekeepers are often nothing more than glorified poultry rearer's who are the same and dont understand an owl has taken the heads of the poults, so they conclude its humans. And they don't leave marbles and ball bearings behind on the deck either.

if you carried on using and putting your trust in the same firm , folks might rightly call you daft though.I once had a plumber who didn’t do a good job.
Therefore no plumber has ever done a good job, and never will ever again.

Not just in Dorset, then!
It happens over a bet (much like betting on who's long dog is best)
The break into a pen (in the dark) catch the poults pull the heads off stuff them in a bag or coat pocket then have a count up later (sometimes back at a pub)
They had time to pull me over when I forgot to put my seatbelt on thoughBecause it’s a small crime in the grand scheme of things
That’s why
