How to be instantly invisible in the U.K. (not stalking related)

I'm old enough to remember (54) , when if you were really ill , your doctor (who actually knew you )would come to your house to see you , on the day that you called them.
When I tell my kids this , they look at me like I'm a liar 😄.
Our lovely local village doctor did that, until he recently retired. Now that he's retired, it's an e-consult and they'll call you back. I did one last week for my daughter. 2 days later my wife got a call to say the doc was off so they'd cancelled the e-consult and to do another one if we still needed to.

To be honest I go most weeks for blood tests in Nurse section at our local practice(I believe 9 doctors). Maybe two more waiting in Nurse section for given appointments. Doctors section after 16.30.only ever seen maximum of three waiting. Beginning to wonder if our GPs do anything. Bring back sitting in surgery waiting your turn as it used to be.

The whole country has gone to rat xxxx.

I drive a bin lorry , and my hgv license was up for renewal on 6th of January . The medical form for renewal turned up on December 16th . It had been posted at the beginning of December, but had been delayed because of postal strikes . I called my doctors to see if they could do the medical , they said that they can't do it for me , but they can get me on a waiting list to get it done privately, when I asked when it could be done , all that they could tell me was that the list was very long . Anyway , I found a doctor a few miles away , that could do it on the 18th of December . After passing the medical, I was mindful of the postal issues, so posted the forms 24hr signed for , to be sure of it getting there . Fast forward a couple of weeks , and I received a letter from dvsa saying that they couldn't issue my new license until they'd recieved my medical forms, I tried to call them, but they were on strike , when I did get through the following day , they told me that I hadn't sent the forms back , I then told them the time and date that they'd recieved the forms , and the initials of the people that had signed for them , and after being put on hold , I was advised that they weren't happy with the forms for some reason, and now needed to write to my own doctor (the one that hadn't done the medical). My own doctors called me to say that the doctor couldn't reply to dvsa , until I'd sent in a weeks worth of blood pressure readings, I did this , only to be called again , and told that the doctor needed to do the BP check in person. No problem says me , when can I come and get it done ?, in three weeks times says the receptionist. I finally had the BP check done by the surgery nurse last week( and passed , just as I had done on 18th December) , so now I'm waiting on my doctor to tick the boxes and send the form , and for dvsa to send me my licence if they're happy now.

I actually think that dvsa have just lost the original medical form .

While I was at the doctors surgery, I asked if they still did medical forms for fac/sgc , as I'm up for renewal early next year.
The conversation went like this .

Me . Do you still do medical forms for fac/sgc.
Receptionist 1. No
Receptionist 2. Yes we do.
Receptionist 3. Dunno

Me . do you know how much it'll cost ?.
Receptionist 1. Looks at Receptionists 1 and 2
Receptionist 2. Dunno
Receptionist 3. Dunno

Me . Do you know how long it might take ?.
Receptionist 1. It would have to be done as private work , so you'll have to just go on a waiting list .

Me. Could you give me any kind of idea how long that waiting list might be , as I only have a window of a few months ?.
Receptionist 1. Very long.
Receptionist 2. Very very long.
Receptionist 3. Dunno.

Me . OK thankyou, goodbye.

The country is just broken.☹

Try to spend money or have a service. Give it a go. Instant invisibility.

Mechanic wouldn’t return my calls, I had to go out to see if he was alive.
Electrician, says he will come out, then doesn’t.
Builders, never return calls. Got to the point where whoever says they can do it, gets the job if they are not stupidly expensive.

Ammunition, nightvision, gun shops. I HAVE MONEY, I am contacting them because I want to spend the money. They have what I want.

One gun shop, actually did contact me. He didn’t answer my questions that I asked him about the ammo which was the important bit, (see my thread about the 223), he also sent me a further email asking me if I was going to go and look at the gunsafe I was interested in as an aside from the ammo, which I went back and said, sorry, no, managed to get some ammo so wouldn’t be coming to look at this stage, but nowhere in his communication or on his website is there any indication of where the xxxx he is located. I mean, help me out here. Give me a clue. My physic abilities are limited, (ask the missus, I never have a clue what she is thinking apparently).
My local pub landlord, he is awful at responding to messages. I domhave good reason to message him and he does have good reason to respond, but he doesn’t. He does answer when I go into the pub and catch up with him, f2f. but that was 2 weeks later.

Jeez, if I treated people like that in my job I would get the sack.

I messaged Mr McKillop ( back to my thread on the 223). He took a day or two to respond, but that is acceptable to me and he said, I'm busy at the mo. Which is fine, he responded and I know he will fit me in when he has time. Now, why can’t can’t everyone else do that?

It's not rocket science, if people contact, contact them back, and if they are a returning customer, definitely call them back, unless they were a complete and utter ass who they do not want to deal with.

I could go on, but customer services, just doesn’t seem to exist and is a dying art in this country.
I do tend to support those business that realise I am actually a customer. I’m not looking for them to bend over for me, but, return my calls, give me good advise and I will happily spend my money.

Of course, there is one more possibility……………….. maybe I am that xxxxhead that nobody wants to deal with.
Brexit (I am still not over it)
