No pointAnyone gralloching in the field with a tree pulley and gambrel?
Where do you buy yours from and what are the best / strongest products out there?
Thanks again
Any one sung by Chrissie Hynde.I like music as much as the next person, but lugging along the old vinyl when stalking does seem a tad excessive.

I'll get me coat.
Totally agree. My technique is best described as 'suspended bleeding' as in gralloch the deer on the ground, punch the knife into the h/l chest cavity a few times and hang it up to bleed, carry on stalking. When you come back the carcass is much cleaner to handle and lighter. Its maybe just me, but I've never really understood why people do a suspended gralloch. As long as it's on a clean piece of ground, you can do exactly the same job with it lying down (and in half the time, with no extra equipment). If your not very good at gralloching, you're still going to mess it up wether its hanging in a tree or not.
Each to their own though.
You forgot "Doe-n't you want me baby" by the Human LeagueOh well, if we're allowed to change words......
"Deer Prudence" by the Beatles
"Red, red, hind" by UB40
"Hit the Munt-Jack" by Ray Charles
"(I am the morning DJ at) C*W*D" by Harry Chapin
Each have there place, however if you knocked cattle/pigs/sheep over cleaned them out dragged them "down the hill"Its maybe just me, but I've never really understood why people do a suspended gralloch. Not much choice but to do it on theTotally agree. Much better and cheaper than these Stalkers Mates and the like too.I made one from some dinghy blocks and 3mm sailing rope. Breaking strain is well over 200kg so more than enough for most. Just need a folding gambrel, currently using an a hook. On a side note it turns out my daughters netball hoop can’t take the weight of a CWD……View attachment 298927
