My best ever wild river trout

Beautiful fish ,, I once caught a 6lb browny on my local river on a goldhead hairs ear , luckily for me the river bailiff was present to witness it( his estimate on weight ), but no pictures which was ashame , well done 👍

That’s quite a fish

Catching a great trout on a fly of your own tying, along with a good shot with a bullet of your own making, is a pleasure not known to many but well worth savouring by the few who do it.
Well done sir - a veritable leviathon - Hare’s Ear?

It’s a pheasant tail deer hair thing that sort of floats despite its appearance

Cracking fish, not sure it's the same river, but I had a slightly smaller one a few years back quickly followed by a similar sized sea trout on a tiny leaded caddis.:tiphat:

Nice looking fish for a large one ! I have had a few really very big river browns but they where all mostly cannibals and not so fine looking . A 6 lb nice looking brown Trout is a proper prize !

That's a stunner ,only ever caught 6 to 8 oz tiddlers on the canal of all places.
Years ago nutty 7 trent released 2000 on the Trent and Mersey near Burton.

Lovely fish, Brownies are one of my favorites, looks like a "drowned emerger" type pattern you've tied, great stuff, and makes me want to dust off the rods.
PS It looks in great condition for this time of year :tiphat:
