Swedteam backpack v vorn Lt

Hi all, Any comparisons or advice regarding the swedteam backbone back pack against the vorn Lt or Ev series? I like the swedteam backpack but cannot find any info or reviews. I'd like to know how the swedteam releases the gun. I like the set up on the vorn but cannot make my mind up until I find out how the swedteam works. Thanks in advance.

I have no experience of either. But the Vorn EV 30 looks a lot more straight forward than the Swedteam Backbone.
I hate it when there are straps and buckles all over the place for no obvious reason other than to look important and create an illusion of adjustability.

As far as I can seen there is no release mechanism. The rifle is simply stuck into the top opening.

The one thing I don’t like with a lot of these backpack carriers is that one end of the rifle sticks down below your waist line. If you want to take the weight of your feet by perching your bum on a rock, on a tussock whilst looking through your binoculars etc you have to take the pack off otherwise sooner or later you will end up with a broken rifle.

I have an Italian made pack that has a rifle carrying system. Its crap. It also opens up to take a roe deer. I just open the top zip and carry the rifle with butt at my waistline. It does stick up above your head though.

I have a Vorn, one of the original ones. It only gets used when out on the hill, which isn’t very often these days but its absolutely brilliant for the purpose of carrying small amounts for a day out and your rifle and still having quick and easy access to your rifle, this takes a little practice but is easy to achieve. I have a few deer that cant testify to fine mechanism that is the Vorn release. A friend pointed out the way you get your hand behind your back better, an ex diver, apparently they need to be able to get to the bottle valve on their back.

I have a Vorn Lynx I think, the middle size. Wouldn't be without it. I'm not supple enough to do the over your shoulder release thing but have a lightweigh sling on the rifle that I slip over my shoulder and just pull the release and tug the sling

Had a vorn ... sold it
Same here!! Good idea but to heavy and not overly practical! You just end up filling it full of s**t incase you might need it! Much prefer the waist pack for a first aid kit and a snack and for the rifle I use the cross over sling from best fox call (can’t mid what it’s called)

Had a Vorn Lynx for a couple of years that I used on a long walk permission. Overall it’s very good, being well made, very comfortable, cleverly engineered and just the right size.

Personally only found a couple of down sides with it. It doesn’t like big scope turrets as the rifle doesn’t release easy even if the bag is half full.

Also that I could never actually trust myself using it with one loaded and live. Bumped on a few occasions close fallow having ejected the rifle perfectly, up on the sticks only for them to scarper hearing the bolt close. 😆

I bought it off you! Very happy with it but only use it on the hill in Scotland. Makes crawling much easier & as it is the smallest one it prevents you taking too much unnecessary clobber but plenty of room for a flask, food & an extra layer

Can understand the principle of it but depends on what sort of stalking you do I suppose , woodland stalking you wouldn't get a chance to get the rifle out of the vorn by the time the deer had run off ! ( well I wouldn't! )

Thanks for all your replies. I think I will just stick to the twin slings and small pack but I have made up my mind that if I go for anything later in the season it will be the smaller vorn Lt12
I am fortunate enough to have stalking of all sorts and have coped ok up to now but we all want something else to hopefully make life easier. When half the time whatever we choose its never going to be easy doing what we do.

I used a Backbone for a while, but it wasn't much use for stalking as the rifle was neither secure nor immediately accessible. I also found that when hefting it in and out of vehicles, etc., I kept grabbing it by bits that evidently weren't meant to be grabbed because they soon came loose. I replaced it with an AIM drag bag. Still no use for stalking, but better protection for the rifle in the car, enough pocket space for essentials, just as good for a hike to a high seat, and whatever bit you grab can take the weight. No experience with Vorn.

Myself and a few mates run vorn lynx on the hill. I must admit I really rate mine, takes a little getting used to but takes the sting out of carrying my heavy-ish semi custom all day. Plenty room for food, water, tea, knife, drag rope, first aid kit etc. They are solid and comfortable so long as you set them up well.

I think these are a bit of a game changer on the hill, I don’t really get the criticism if honest, but each to their own.

Yes 💯

Tried it in the woods, nightmare. Constantly taking it in and out which requires a real technique I haven’t mastered.

For hill stalking, or anywhere you need to carry kit all day followed by a steady planned approach and shot they work well.
