Swedteam backpack v vorn Lt

Can understand the principle of it but depends on what sort of stalking you do I suppose , woodland stalking you wouldn't get a chance to get the rifle out of the vorn by the time the deer had run off ! ( well I wouldn't! )
Use mine in commercial forestry and get on fine. Admittedly it does take a bit of practice and real time use to get the hang of it..
I recently thought I would try going back "old school" but found it much more of a faff keeping the rifle straight on my shoulder.

I find the twin sling set up I use sits nicely on the back and is easy to access. The trouble is I can't use a backpack with that set up hence the reason I was thinking of a vorn or similar.

Once you get used to the Vorn it makes carrying the rifle so comfortable and easy

A friend pointed out the way you get your hand behind your back better, an ex diver, apparently they need to be able to get to the bottle valve on their back.
Might you try and explain this please. I have an old shoulder injury that makes it a bit hard to grab the rifle out of the Vorn. I have to push the button away from my back with my left hand to reach the barrel.

Put your right hand pointing straight out in front of you at shoulder height end at the elbow and come over the back brushing your ear with the inside of your arm.
a lot of people try to come around which reduces the flex in the shoulder. I hope this explains, I had it demonstrated which makes it easier.
you are then getting hold of the barrel or moderator.
My shoulders dont work as they once did as an ex rugby playing site Carpenter but this worked for me.

Thanks, simple but definitely fixes what I was doing! I was going out to the side.

Got an Vorn EV30 and it get's used when I'm doing alot of walking or I'm going out for a long time and need to carry food, drink, etc and it does that job perfectly. For just normal stalking then I use a rifle sling.

Hi all, just a little update that thanks to Yeoman having a new unused EV30. I am now the proud owner of said item. And I am so impressed with the quality i think its going to help out no end.
A big thanks to Yeoman for coming forward and showing me the error of my ways. A top trustworthy guy.
Also, thank you all for your comments very helpful and much appreciated as usual.

Hi all, just a final note on this subject.
After just getting back from spending a week in Scotland. I have to say what an excellent bit of kit the Vorn EV30 is.
I am so glad Yeoman showed me the error of my ways. The larger backpack is definitely the way to go, thanks again for all your knowledgeable replies as usual.

A word of warning. If you use a chassis the hooks can get caught in the rails. I used my Vorn in the rut and got caught up trying to get the rifle out and missed an opportunity. I’ll be wrapping the rails up now. First time it has happened.

I have the first generation and find the harness system and straps slightly better at the cost of the size of the LT30 rifle storage. It’s a trade off I’m currently happy with. Need to fit a bottle pouch on the waste band though.

I have a vorn lynx and for open hill stalking it is great. Aside from that I don't use it as lowland woodland stalking down south is what I do most of and don't need to carry food, drink, drag ropes etc.

I have a backbone, never seen the vorn but I’d pick that over back bone… straps are uncomfortable, back piece lacks adjustment..
