Beretta BRX1 any one tried it?

Has a look at Beretta BRX1 straight pull today as an easy way of getting a left handed rifle reasonably easily.

Have looked at various on line reviews and am not convinced. The balance seems odd and the bolt travel seems long.

Anyone tried one/have one? Are they any good? TIA

That Browning thing was a pig. Unless you're keen on a straight pull action, I'm sure there's other options out there that don't feel like a giant turd.

Had mine for around four months can't fault it accurate with all the ammo I've tried. For the price you can't go wrong.

Re Balance. Remember the BRX1 is designed for European hunters where a lot of the time they will shooting offhand at close range at moving game.

Most of us in the UK are used to rifles with lots of weight forward which makes for a very steady rifle that shoots well off a rest / bipod. And most of those writing reviews are of this opinion as well.

And they have just the one action length that takes all cartridges. So bolt throw will be like any long action rifle. For that matter any Blaser R93 or R8 also has an action length that will handle any long action cartridge.

In a similar vein to T3 actions/barrels, with GMK fobbing owners off saying poor maintenance. Apparently you're supposed to clean your rifle even if you take it out of the gun safe to look at it.

that sounds a very similar result, gmk did not back, very short sighted imo when the owner of said gun is well respected in the gun trade!

Have a friend with one, no rust , had a problem with the magazine, which had to be changed, very accurate, it’s only used with a thermal, I personally found it strange at first the length of draw on the bolt, but it works, for very quick shots.

Just rebarrelled one to .35 Whelen, original .30-06 barrel was pretty poor. If you like crappy plastic this is the rifle for you.

No signs of rust first I've heard of this. It has a three year warranty

Got one a few weeks ago. Not done much with it yet but one thing I did do was to add an inch to the stock so that the bolt didn't make contact with my nose on drawing back. This was easy with a standard Beretta spacer but then did pose a problem with the Picitinny rail not allowing the 50mm scope to come back far enough (other option was ridiculously high mounts). Removed rail and replaced with a Tikka fitment rail, much better profile. Accuracy has been great with 30.06 Sako 180gr.

Go on Beretta E store. Type in BRX1 and the rail is on there.
You could probably get one via a dealer

Handled one properly today was ok but very muzzle heavy and bolt clattered my nose end despite spacers ,think will look else where

Have recently bought one in a 30 06 super accurate out of the box. I found the balance and the recoil of the rifle incredible.

Whi did you get to rebarrel it? I'm considering taking mine down to 22 creedmoor as a vermin gun.
