Head in a Tree...

I put this Fallow Buck head quite a way up a tree on Aug 23rd (shot on the 22nd) lashed with a cord, being in velvet they are never as nice as when shot clean, but they all eat the same lol
Will go back at the end of the month for a look.

Tried tossing it into water? skin usually just mummifies onto them.

bag over it preferably autum is coming you dont want leaves falling into the water and tannins leaching into the water and staining it
 
Too dry to leave them at least where I live same deer are still sitting on the same tree since 2021 skin just mummified on them It never really slips off nicely plus prying of skin on a stinking deer head isnt pleasant.

They stink being submerged in water but at least there flesh and skin free within about a month and a bit.

This muntjac head was left in the hedge on it's own...found it some time later no skin staining,20230311_174057[1].webp only white :lol:
