Looking For someone to boil head (Hampshire)

Providing the head is fresh and you have skined and removed the majority of meat you need to boil until any remaining meat is cooked. 20 minutes for a roe scull is plenty. I do it on the kitchen stove with extra fan on. It doesn’t need to be a fast boil, just a gentle simmer - and the smell - no worse than making stock. Which actually is exactly what you are doing.

Then pick off all the meat and connective tissue. I find a pair of needle nosed pliers useful gor between the coronets.

Then wrap the skull parts in two or tree layers of kitchen towel. Put scull in a plastic bowl.

Pop down to chemist and get a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. It’s usually 5% solution. We the kitchen towel with the peroxide and make the wet towel is firmly against the bone.

Leave for a few hours and see if the bone looks clean. If not leave a bit longer.

Then rinse and let it dry.

Would love to, but I do not have a garden to do it in, heard it smells pretty bad. So don't wanna get booted off by Mrs :).
DM's replies, many thanks

is it a goat?

Deer heads don't smell too offensive although might be unsightly to your other half. Just smells like boiling meat. You do need a garden to power hose it though. I'm sure you'd get some funny looks at the local petrol station car wash!

I don't mind that much, someone who told me must have exaggerated. Maybe I'll try take as much skin I can before bringing it home.
What else would I need (any tools etc) if i decide to give it a go, other then a big pan to boil it in.
disposable scalpels are best IMO. Remove as much meat as possible

Thanks, the one I had, Ive have given it to a chap named Gregg, couple guys here referred. Don't want to mess myself with this one, as am quite +ve it'll make a medal.

Peroxide has a deleterious effect on skull bones in the long run as has been reported.
Are you sure you've not confused this one with household bleach? (NaClO) this does have serious effect on bone turning into chalk then dust It also has the pleasure of turning all your heads a lovely brown-ey yellow colour and wont even get them white.

I would love to see the report if you have it.
