Urban foxes

when i used to skin them you would be suprised how many were carrying shot gun pellets

Thats idiots taking out of range shots while game shooting I'd bet! That really annoys me as it gives responsible shooters a bad rap.

maybe , maybe not , i stopped skinning foxes when the fur trade ended in the 80s , back then most keepers carried a shotgun at all times very few of us had a .22 even fewer had full bores , we used to do a fare bit of vermin driving , this along with earley morning snap shots at foxes could be the reason . We never did any lamping then but we knew how to set snares and did alot of terrier work . Ive only seen one shot on a driven bird day as the usual rule for game shooting is no ground game

I'm not saying your wrong at all but from my 20+ years around game shooting I'd put good money on that being the case and have seen it so many times.

exactly mudman me too and as for terriers a mate of mine once had two patterdale crosses that went down

and engaged but charlie got the better of both of em big dog fox one terrier ended up at the vet fox got away

he came to tell me his tale of woe i was delighted and told him serves him right next time do it clean and fair

with a bullet not often the christian eats the lions is it never saw him for two weeks after that

Plenty of urban foxes where I live and they are no problem whatsoever. I prepped a Red stag trophy a few weeks ago and all the assorted waste was left in the garden overnight, gone by the next morning. Can't see what all the fuss is about. Much prefer the foxes to some of my human neighbours, at least they have a use.

thats great, some poor sod is now cleaning fox sh1t full of red deer hair off his patio.

When i have to hose off my deck and do a recce round the garden before I can let the kids out, there is a problem!!
We have nightly foxes crapping on the kids trampoline, any footballs, toys, the deck, the steps of the house....its a regular territory marking spot!
this is not solid stuff you can scoop up like a dog turd, it is liquid and most unpleasant.
The foxes once got onto the garage roof opposite me and ate 5lbs of lard and seeds put out in a block.

I dread to think what that looked like coming out the other end.

I will continue to wage war on the little b@stards in my garden (and anyone else's if they are that way inclined)

as an aside they are small but well fed round here, no mange but a few injuries.
mostly small circular head injuries (approx .22 in diameter) if they are in my garden!

I could lend you one of my labs who's sole aim in life (when not picking up birds) is to seek out Fox Crap with her built in Olfactory Radar and then roll in the stuff. If you think the car stinks from carrying rutting stag carcasses home you should try getting into mine bringing her back home :-)

as a kid we had monthly trips to the beach in summer to throw all five dogs in to get the smell of horse sh1t out of the fur! no amount of fancy shampoos and individual baths seemed to cure it.
North Sea's finest wave action shifted it!
