You could even use a drone to find your Teckel / Dachshund, I speak as Dachshund owner.Don't get me wrong, I'm a dog man. And love having a working dog with me, company, etc...
However thermal drones are coming down in price, easier to fly and longer run time. How long before they'll be the first choice in tracking?
All in all over the course of 10 years they'll be a damn sight cheaper than a dog!
Been told that I will soon be joined by a 'trial deer manager bot'...
Another thought of mine, a large number of acres could be covered quickly giving you an idea of which way to start a stalk. The appeal of a thermal drone isn't so much finding the deer after its been shot but finding them to shoot and save wasting a good walk looking for them.
Better to buy a GarminYou could even use a drone to find your Teckel / Dachshund, I speak as Dachshund owner.
They’re fine in the open, provided the vegetation isn’t too deep. Though I’ve seen them fail with roe on open moorland when the heather and rushes are more than knee deep.Don't get me wrong, I'm a dog man. And love having a working dog with me, company, etc...

Thermal isn't the answer to a maidens prayer even though newbie stalkers think it is. My dogs nose can do things a thermal never will...Don't get me wrong, I'm a dog man. And love having a working dog with me, company, etc...

+1 my previous lab picked a partridge out a pool in a river that it had not seen go in, that had been missed by all the beaters and pickers up dogs. He smelt a rock it had obviously hit, went two meters left stuck his head underwater and came out with the bird. Unbelievableeven underwater !
