PETITION - PLEASE HELP

Signed. Best of luck. I hope you get enough support, especially in the local area, to make the council take note.
Unfortunately with that carrot of lots of jobs dangling in front of people, many will be swayed for the scheme.

Thanks - yes but after 35 years - im not sure they are coming !
Thanks you for signing

sorry no, just another not in my back yard group .

Hi Ashray
Respect your position of course i do
But its not really

Its about the waste of resources over 35 years
The public money spent

To be honest if it happens it could potentially make me a fortune as i own more land next to this project
When a previous scheme was in the offing i was offered multiples of what it was worth but have no interest in that

Im more interested in looking after the local oldies too really

Good afternoon guys
I wonder if a few of you may sign my petition
It is against a development in a rural village
It is a project that has numerous plans over the years from eco huts - to hotels - go kart tracks and swings

It is now proposed to be a large car park - and shopping type centre - and will employ when done - according to the developer 3000 jobs !

I have no idea where these people will live - park - or get to the site but hey ho the council supports it

The affect of this traffic on residents and the wildlife will not be good so i have opposed it along with many others

I have also started a petition and if anyone would sign that would be great
Done and good luck

Have you taken any planning advice?
Also is it within the National Park as they have special protected status.
A note to a certain King, may help!!

Its been going on in one form or another for many many years
Yes i paid an agent and got a full report done detailing variances to the local - regional plans etc etc
I then spoke at committee highlighted all the issues and the question i was asked related to noise from a go kart wheel ! It was laughable really !

This time which i think is my third full on campaign of objection i have highlighted the damage they are doing to communities - the people factor - the council did not even inform many of the locals about the new plans - myself included !

Fortunately as various consultations are coming back - from coal authority amongst others the ground may be looking questionable to be able to hold such a project - much of it was open cast 40 years ago and used as a "dump"

I started this petition because initially i was told be a council high ranker that if i achieved 1000 signatures i could speak in front of the council

This advice changed a few days later but i am perhaps even more motivated to get the numbers on this now

I have asserted because the project is of "national interest" their words - not mine - then signatures from all over the country should carry weight

Good luck.
Its a game of attrition.

If it is 'of national interest', the developer can go over the top of the local council, straight to the Government. The local planning authority cannot stop it. We have a 1200 acre solar farm planned nearby and the cable to connect to the National Grid crosses my place. They can compulsorily purchase the right to lay the cable because if is of national interest. Interestingly, planning consent for the storage batteries is being sought from the 'local; planning authority!

Indeed - but i believe so can an objector

Our local council is all for it - desperate for it - as they have become emotionally invested i believe

Thinking about this further - i actually dont have an issue with NIMBYs
Why would you not want the best for your own area?
Why would you want pollution / noise / disruption upon yourself - your community of family and friends ?
Why should someone else - or a business be able to outspend normal people to rip up and destroy the green belt and indeed habitats ?

I think we need more NIMBYs and wonder if the car for our localities and their taking for granted is the root of so many of our issues

Will this development affect the numbers of shootable things that you will see on your own property?

To be honest im not really bothered about that - perhaps not - although on the closet bit to the project i let the lads have a pen and a few birds for a walked up shoot
It will bring more people im pretty sure into our main holding - but again the footpath is pretty robust and the boundaries of that well defined

Im more sensitive to the birds we have feeding / nesting - we have woodcock - lapwing - grey partridge- nightjar as well as many species of raptor

I dont like the fact that so much public money has gone into it for so many years - if it was going to be a success it would have been 30 years ago

I worry about the disturbance of the land - and subsequent flooding - and i really worry / wonder what may get disturbed in the "dump" section

The fact that this project is so close to so many peoples houses is simply crazy

I also really dont like the fact that as a neighbour i have had to find out about some of the applications second or third hand - the relationship between developer and council seem a little too blurred to me

Now 978 ! Thanks so much guys
Had the conservative candidate for the town MP come yesterday
He was very helpful
