The future of a deer stalking vehicle

Must be the driver 👍
Nah ! the shorter narrower wheel base low ground weight . I admit and i should have added ( with some oversized wheels ) Not the bog std road car off a forecourt .
Officials tried changing courses to be more " land rover friendly"
I exclude the series 1 that we still used much modified with more powerful engines etc .

Sounds like you're purposefully trying to make quad tracks that can still be managed by Jimny. Yes the small dimensions give you leeway, but also larger wheelbase means you can do some obstacles Jimny cannot w/o tipping over, motor and low gear in Jimny just doesn't cope in some mud situation etc.

IMHO you should base real-life offroading on real-life challenges, not something competition based (where goals might be inrealistic).

As a bonus I think BB cannot see this as he has me on ignore list like probably half of SD already...

In defence of the sainted Jimny - I have had mine for 13 of it’s 19 years. In my custodianship it has taken me to places that many of my pals would not even consider in their many and varied british and foreign jeeps. Indeed some have plugged In places where the J never hesitated!
I bought mine all those years ago after a stalking break in Perthshire where my now great pal stunned me with how it dealt with every Glen-side terrain whilst pulling a trailer with 4 red hinds in it. Mind you he, unlike me had chunky tyres!

Can’t be too long now before the UK Military order some. 😘

Just starting to be brought into UK. A motorway and ULEX compliant Gator with steering wheel on the correct side, 52mpg, a 2m long load bed that’s not too high and all for well under £20k including the VAT.

Now I wouldn’t want to drive the length of the UK in one, but no reason why you could not. But for bouncing around country roads, farm tracks, forestry tracks across fields and if you let tyres down probably across pretty soft stuff it could be hard to beat. You can easily carry a few deer or bags of feed etc. And it’s built by a Toyota subsidiary.

No its not a Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger etc, but its half the price and minimal running costs.

If a full sized quad fits in the bed it might be a serious consideration
