Not quite, there are full time courses offered buy colleges for people looking at full time employment. These some how get very overlooked but should be recognised as well.

Ah didn't think of them but what recognised qualification do they leave with DSC LVL 2?
Harper Adams students now leave with the PDS qualification, so that's another training provider that's ditched the DMQ in favour of the courses offered by County Deerstalking.
It's all a bit farcical really, because the only one any of us actually need (legally) is the Large Game Meat Hygiene certificate.

DMQ is our industry standard with no Government recognition, but Lantra is recognised by Ofqual but no Quality control.

Given the latest comments by Mike Allison and others about DSC 2 in particular perhaps we should be enquiring about a DSC to PDS conversion?
All this talk of conversion from one to another is really irrelevant. Basically the DMQ seems to be the requisite qualification for the industry and probably will remain so. All qualifications are good get as many as you can but experience is still the main factor in any industry. Having in a former life obtained a degree in civil engineering, that set me on the road to work. Imagine the cultural shock when for a while I was working 12 hour shifts using surveying equipment in wet, dirty tunnels. This for a few years on many projects including management.Another life change where along with.other things my surveying expertise included plotting our opponents positions and teaching others how to do it and make use of it in far off places.
From college to both lives saw me using very little of what I was taught and experience was the only qualification needed. Thankfully I left both lives and became a Gamekeeper on a fraction of the money. However having retired as a full time keeper I returned to the Civils game on contract for a year or few where my employers were only interested in experience barely mentioning my qualifications.
The whole thing is a house of cards but the experience of what you choose and your skill at it is the main factor in everything you do. Now I am happy with my part time duties and love every minute of it quals or not.

Sounds like a good idea. Then the government would have to support hunting formally!
More chance of platting fog.
That would be the general consensus and why we will never have a government scheme.

With the way things now are with devolved "governments" and each wanting to do their own thing if only to be bloody minded we would land up with 4 entirely different schemes.

Easy - it would be down right impossible with the Welsh Assembly, they won't even engage in dialogue with BASC or the NGO.

Don’t forget Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Our HCAP is a recognised educational qualification, that might be the best way to go about it, pick one and go through the process.

I'm afraid that you've got me at a loss, as I've come across numerous meanings from those relating to pneumonia to those relating to cognitive testing but I don't think any of them fit the bill.
Is it by any chance an Irish qualification?
