And you thought the scottish ferries saga was bad…

It's a utter disgrace. Can't even send one to the Red Sea due to a lack of supply ships. Doubt we have got enough aircraft on it to be any sort of a threat.
Remember watching the documentary when the QE was on commissioning trials. The huge propellor issue.
Appears a drive issue on QE took 9 months to resolve!
God help us if we ever have to go to war.
D

Aye, the 1 hour D & I training the crew received annually is the root of all the issues.
The crew isn't the problem. The MOD with its 93 diversity networks and their influence are. And they're riddled with this sort of nonsense - diversity is just the canary in the coal mine, an emblem of the rotten state of the Civil Service staffing. Far too much time and attention is wasted across the entire public sector (and beyond) on total bullsh1t.
To be clear, there's not much wrong with diversity, so long as all the essential details of the job have already been achieved to a high standard and secondarily, minimal cost. Taxpayers' money from the defence budget and staff effort is not being spent on troops and equipment, or training but on an unnecessary frivolity. That is less money available for any of the deficiencies that these same people have created on defence.
That is only a disgrace.

Don't worry chaps all this mediocracy elsewhere keeps our defence spending percentage of GDP on the right side of the two percent line, just like Greece. President trump and NATO will look after us.

Help!

There is something wrong with forced diversity - in my opinion if we wanted to be truly diverse we would have no mention or ethnicity or gender etc on CV’s and interviews would be blind….

…but they won’t do that, as all employers would be terrified they ended up with an all male workforce in some fields and an all female workforce in others.

The field I work in is suffering massively from the DEI thing just now - but everybody seems to want to clap along with it!

Good lord, imagine if workplaces were populated with people whose skill sets were all that mattered...

Ace that next appraisal, simply by identifying as non-binary. Now untouchable, and likely candidate for promotion.

Let’s just hope Argentina doesn’t get any ideas again about The Falklands….

I wouldn't worry about that - their navy is in at least 10 times worse shape than ours
At least ours float

Cheers
