Shooting Tripods - What do you use?

I bought the vanguard endeavour L303agm tripod recently and Im very happy with it.
I did switch to Arca rails as well and had to buy an Arca clamp for the tripod also but it was only £23. The newer RL303 model has the Arca clamp.
Done a good bit of practice with the 22 lr on gongs and went out a few nights ago with the 204. I shot 4 foxes at ranges between 130 and 170 yards with no misses.
When in the prone position the bottom rear of the stock is 3 inches from the ground .

Which tripod did you decide to go for? How have you found it?
I have taken a chance on a cheaper option. Never usually my style but from all of the specifications etc. there seems to be very little difference.

I am however yet to test it; my rifles have been between stocks and scopes etc. for the last few months but hoping to finally get them sorted within the next couple of weeks!

Like most I watch the youtubers going about their business and most now use tripods. I suppose foxing stand to stand makes filming a lot easier, hence why they take that particular approach.

I tend to walk small areas off, drive to the next and repeat the process, so I shoot from a bipod the majority of the time. Even when I've spotted a fox from the vehicle at distance, I usually take off on foot leaving the tripod behind in the truck lol

The tripod has been very helpful during the mowing and harvest when I've not had the truck with me to get a height advantage. Having said that I've always found a way however I am going to make more of an effort this year to use it

Let us know how you get on

Finally made it down to the range yesterday and I was extremely impressed.

The tripod I purchased was from Amazon - Geehope I believe and I changed the head. Less than £200 all in!

The rifle still isn’t complete but this will keep me going for the time being! 😂

Really Right Stuff. Everything else is...a compromise.

TFCT-34 (IIRC) is the model I went with. Granted, they are pricey ($1400'ish several years ago), but the inverted ballhead and proprietary carbon fiber weave make a huge difference in strength and vibration transfer (or lack thereof).Annie_sm.jpg

this is what i use with arca adapters , great package

i have a rail for my spotting scope and leica vector or a quick twist and clip one of my arca rifles on the tripod
That is one hefty tripod - I bet it’s rock solid!

I can’t edit my post above to include my setup so I will put it here:

i did consider a lighter tripod but my comp rifles are heavy buggers !

the actual weight of it isn't an issue but i find the 40kg capacity reassuring especially if i load it up with sweeties and drinks
