.223 factory ammo

Hi all

I’m looking for some real world experiences with a couple of different .223 factory loadings on fox and if applicable roe deer. Norma tipstrike came highly recommended for fox (also most expensive .223 ammo the shop sells… any experiences with for example geco express,… are definitely appreciated. I’m preferably looking for something not too… explosive if that makes sense? In the end the rifle will decide what it likes best but would love to hear from you guys. Thank you!

Friend of mine uses Hornady practice ammo, think it's 55grain, not sure though. Cheap but accurate and knocks over muntjac and CWD very well without carcass damage. The odd fox he's shot really didn't like them,no dramas all round.

Agree hirnady 55g for the old Reynards

Once again I have to agree with Pellet Pinger. The only factory ammo that comes close to mine ( 222 not 223 ) is Hornady Superformance. Their 50g V-Max is as good as mine.

Geco 53grain soft point from Macleods of Tain, Gregor bought the last 30,000 Rnds of it I believe, sadly they stopped have making it now.
£10 for 20 so I’m not reloading at the moment, also 53 grain Hornady superformance both shoot to the same POI in my rifle.

Anybody tried the ADI 55gr Blitzking yet? My RFD gave me a box to try and haven't got round to it yet. £20 a box compared to my usual Hornady 55gr Varmint Express at £27. The Hornady incidentally is doing half inch at 100m T3x 1:12

Tikka T3 prefers Sako Gamehead to Superperformance but shoots both well. Gameheads very effective on foxes and rarely get an exit on a chest shot. They just fall over.

Tikka T3x Supervarmint 1:8 twist Federal 53 Grain V-Max 0.5 inch. Can't seem to find any in stock anywhere. I have also tried Geco Express 56 grain, RWS Teilmantel 55 grain, Hornady Superformance 53 grain V-Max and Sako 55 grain SP. All shoot under an inch for 5 shot groups at 100m. Lovely rifles, that's why I got another in 6.5 CM.
