Nope8mm Mauser ?
8mm Mauser is also known as the 7.92x57?Nope
WedgeMauser flag safety, double set trigger, European origin?- Interesting that the trigger and internal mag detach separate from the action - I had a very old BRNO that did the same. Apart from that and from my aging eyes no other clues
Just noticed that the forend looks like it attaches to the barrel by means of a “leaf” that is pushed out to separate barrel/action from the stock
V close8mm Mauser is also known as the 7.92x57?
V closeThumbcut so a military action, rebarreled fairly obviously, probably originally an 8mm mauser but that looks like a 9.3 round to me and a lot of 8 x 57 were rebarreled to 9,3 for use in Africa.
Total guesswork on my part though.
David.
9 x 57 is strictly a 9.3 calibre, as I am sure @alberta boy will confirm. I think it is one of his favourites.So. Several v close. It was as stalker 1962 says a 7.8 or something on stamps and as others suggest bored out for Africa use. PH has a guy who reloads for it at 9 by 57
