Alright folks.
Wondering if any bt engineers or sparks on here.
I cant figure out wot im doing wrong.
Basically my master socket is in an out building about 50m from my house.
Ive ran a cat 6 cable between the 2 but cant seem to gey either phone or broadband down at my house.
In theory only a temp cable, but may well use it for a year or 2+
I dont want to get Bt out to move my master to house as i'd end up with another cable throu some trees.
I meaning to climb those trees and either severly reduce crowns and section down a coupke that are overhanging a powerline.
Pretty sketchy and got enough hazzards already, i dinae normally climb trees nowadays too auld ( and fat) for that carry on.
It a young skinny persons job
The master is a 5c and i ended up getting a mk 4 face for it.
I have tried wiring it to both the 2 and 5 terminals on wall plate and the A B terminals on rrar on mk4 face plate.
Niether seems to work., which i cant understand why
In my house ive had to use a filter thingy to get both the plug types.
Will the filter be affecting it?
Or is it the distance?
I have just used internal cat 6 cable which may not be ideal outside but just wot i had left over.
I mind i wired the phone sockets in my old house no problems, but that was a while ago.
Cheers
