Decathlon Game Bag 100L...any users fit fallow? In a hatchback!?

I guess a few 2/3 litre ice bottles would help with that,,,easy enough.
It's the air flow, or lack of it with a lid closed on it, I don't think even ice would help massively. It's probably not an issue if you're bringing it home straight away but I would rather it cooked quicker and naturally asap rather than leave it sweating in a sealed box.

It's why I went for a plasterers bath in the end. Not much bigger, definitely stronger and more versatile and I made a cover from a mosquito net to go over the top to allow air flowimg, the heat to escape and keep debris and flies out.

Personally I use the black rubber bags used by the mortuary police to take away the corpses, funeral agencies also have them, equipped with handles and a waterproof zipper, bad to say but they do their job

That's why I chopped a car electric cool box lid into mine - doesn't cool but stops the temp build up nicely. I don't know how to add a link to my media on this site but there's some pictures there if anyone is intetested.
This is it peter, the whole idea is to start the cooling process. Most of these examples are like "Boil in a Bag"
You don't see it in the meat industry as they start the cooling process right away, it seems only the stalking people want to shut the lid for the trip home why I have no idea only thing I can offer is it is the same vehicle for the school run in the morning..

Fold the back seats flat, wind the passenger seat fwd and I bet a 4x2 (that is feet ) plasterers bath and cover will fit.
Ive heard that sticking a length of aluminium foil tape around the inside of the tub/bath at the top will stop any ticks from climbing up & out.
Does anyone have any experience of this working?

If I was in a tick burden area the simple fix would be a frame to fit over the PB with a fly screen material. 2x1 batten 90deg corner fixer from a diy shop and staple the screen on the batten. Air goes in air goes out..

I intend to do something similar with 25 x 25 / 50 x 50 sheet metal angle riveted together, sandwiching some fly screen in the middle. This will make a lid for my PB. I dont have a dedicated shoot vehicle and me & the mrs have our very young granddaughter in the car with us quite often. I'd like to do every thing i can to lessen the risk of a stray tick loose in the car.

Thinking about it again now, i might cut a small panel out in each side of the PB and cover with mesh to assist the air flow. As already stated its all about cooling the carcase down as quick as possible.

Just fill in the corners as the PB has a big radis on each corner.

Lots of options. My preference is a open plasterers bath, carcass tray as that allows movement of air. Even warm air will evaporate moisture causing cooling.

I would remove skin, especially in summer time on Red when they are covered in stinking wallow etc and keds, ticks etc. And quarter them to make more manageable.

If you can hang the carcass for as ling as possible to cool. Ideal is to get it into a chiller.

Most decent sized garages sell ice and they are open most hours of the day. Have a few clippy boxes or wide necked storage jars that hold water. Indeed a perfect use for old powder tubs. Fill them with ice and on with the lid and pack them inside and around the carcass or meat. I have found that bags of ice on their own tend to split and you end watery blood sloshing out of the tray.

Then rather depends on your car / vehicle. In an estate car I leave the parcel shelf open air can flow over the meat. Turn the air conditioning on full and wear a fleece or keep windows open.

I have transported deer carcasses from North of Scotland down to Oxfordshire with no issues, albeit carcasses were cool before transport.

I have also hung carcass in a tree or left out in a breezy place overnight without any adverse affects. Nights in Scotland are pretty cool even in mid summer.

Yes I often get a mature fallow in a decathlon bag, but feet off, and head off too if it's got antlers.

They do hold the heat if the carcass hasn't been cooled in the field.

They used to do a 240l waterproof boot liner with grab handles. Very useful.
