Right, I'm sort of curious on whatever folks here keep? obviously the deer manager that shoot hundreds of deer wont keep everything (feel free to vote though!) but I'm curious what the average stalker here keeps?

Whilst not the true intention of the poll, If you keep heads back to sell or process for antlers feel free to vote too Its more gauging who bothers to drag them out the field rather than let them lay with the gralloch.

(Poll mentions bucks & doe's but applies to every species) feel free to comment with your own views too.

I keep everything my does get tagged with numbers.

I've kept roughly 25 medal ones and some abnorms and change them as the years go on so not really a vote I can do.
Have sold around 40 medal ones via various outlets as just haven't the room to keep.

Sol,
It needs a cat. for people like me (Sure there must be another 😘) who don’t keep any.
Kb.
Ps. I would never shoot one just because it was a medal head.

Kept one or two medal roe heads outside the man cave as a memory thing years back, since then i gave a shed load of heads away to people who wanted them, now not to fussed about heads or quality or collecting now its either a job where numbers \ seasons are priority or if leisure to sort out hierarchy i still prefer to let a buck run his life cycle with no pressure on his ground whilst keeping an eye for a decent replacement when the time comes, my pleasure comes out seeing a buck in his own patch
There’s always others to reduce for maintenance so no big shakes here on head quality - So no don't keep any at all BUT i would like a decent red or sika over the man cave door but again its the extraction of said beast that holds me back climbing up to the dizzy height of 70 heavy deer don't ring my bell more like rocks the boat 🤣🤣🤣

I give a lot of heads away and keep antlers for stick making, I have a few on the wall either because they’re good heads or good souvenirs.

I shoot for the pot, I will keep the antlers for anyone that wants them for craft ie stick or handle making etc.
I have never understood the interest in trophy heads?? each to their own

I kept the head of the first buck I shot.
I’ve had a some medal heads but never bothered about them.

I shoot for the pot and the experience, nothing else

Muntjac, buck and doe, given to the dogs. Same roe but antlers removed first for a buddy who does sticks/catapult/craft stuff with them. Same fallow, antlers removed and then given the dogs.
Had a head or two taken off the dogs runs in the kennels by visitors, too good to waste or likewise utterances 🤣

I’ve 3 large stags in the house, and all sorts in the man cave, possibly a dozen. Nowadays I’ll keep nice heads and rot them off for a few guys who make sticks. I’d only clean up a medal at this point, or at the request of a guest.
