One Man and his Hoist.

Owner has just had his pheasants delivered and this lump has knocked over feeders also been in the wheat with his mate so he had to go, only transient also you can't eat the head.
Parked up and walked to a bomb hole which gave me a good left/right chance, big heat source in the wood near Num 3 pen so I just waited!
10mins later out he came, 80yd neck shot few twitches all over...now the real work!
My £20.00 hoist (home made) makes light work of this lump.

It was bitter as i had no custard wont do that again zeroed and fully loaded and only the safety catch will stop me and the deer

Went out today bore sighted it at 100 yds by the second shot with the new scope one inch high at 100ds on the target.
Any one would have thought i shot a deer so now i know better in the future.
Fully load and zeroed over 100 yards.

Did you shoot off your sticks Bill as there will be no bench in the stubble field.

Only used my sticks once and that was for my DSC1 test.
So i have not shot any deer with them.
But i feel confident to stalk with them i put them up in my garden and practice .
To day I was laying prone with a bi pod so next week i will take them out and shoot over a 100 .

Tim dragging that lump across stubble on a cart isn't going to be easy.

Think you misunderstand the maths Bill, these 2 were 130kg on the cart with that buck being around 100kg so the 130kg was going along quite well.

What have you in place when you get something on the ground Bill?
One of these days the stars will line up (as they always do) As you can't let the guide do the work as you won't know what it is like to experience dragging what you have shot.

You don't need what I have, just wondered what you had ready. drag rope, kids sledge I have for muntjac as despite them being small drag them 4-500 yds they get heavy!!

Why not just shoot a small one 25kg same a 2 muntjac, or put it over your shoulder same a bag of cement.

There's an American chap on YouTube who cuts behind the sinew on the front legs, pushes the back legs through, knife cut at the hock, lies it on it's back, lies down on the deer, arms through the legs, and voila, a deer back pack! Bit messy if you gralloch first though, and you might struggle to get up. Still, it's all a challenge!
