53grn hornady super performance misfires

Don't put grease in the bolt anywhere as suggested!
Only the lightest of oil if any!
Dump the superformance junk and move on, as others have suggested.
A light coating of oil and wipe down is all I done, there getting binned after this if the same problem is there, the rfd is only a 10 mile round trip my other option is a 70 mile round trip 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

my Tikka .223 with a 1-12 twist loves this round
never had a misfire but have had 1 round that I couldn't close the bolt on
when its dark and you cant get things to happen as it should its a worry
thankfully its only happened once out of 300 plus rounds

I had a very similar problem with the new hornady cmx I think it was. Brand new tikka rifle in .223.

Haven't had an issue with any other make or model of ammo.

Cleaning the bolt has seemingly cured the problem , never had a problem closing the bolt and the t3 love them

This is a known thing reading the web. It seems they sometimes use milspec / harder primers.

I have had a few missfires. Brand new rifle.
First box ok, second box i had 3.
I then shot off a box and a half in one go out of paranoia without any problem.

2 boxes later i had a missfire, followed by the next 4 shots being ok. The ammo was bought Sept 23.

I’m not sure this is a gun or dirty bolt issue.

The only thing i’m seeing is reports seem to be from Tikka owners, which i also am. Coincidence due to Tikka popularity??

Yeah very similar to my experience with them, but after taking out the bolt and cleaning it , this helped but still had the very odd one, I've now sold said rifle.

i used these factory rounds and got through boxes of them in my tikka t3 ive only ever have 1 round and that wasnt a misfire i couldnt close the bolt
apart from that every other round as does as it says on the box

Yeah i’m not sure it’s the cleanliness of the bolt as my gun was brand new as were others.
As you said you still had the odd one.

It must be the ammo

I have the same problem too. I have shot Superformance since owning the gun. Never a problem with the old batch. New batch however, I’m saddened to say, it’s way more than acceptable. I have been keeping mine aside, to kept in one box. Hoping I’ll get a refund
