Truck insurance

Insurance is due on the D2 V8 in a week or so, renewal letter just come through from broker... Last years premium was £218.77 fully comp, no voluntary excess etc. with AXA. This year AXA unable to provide the same offer so they've proposed moving to Aviva with a premium of £534.43  - to say my flabber was gasted would be a serious understatement. The D2 is 20 years old, I'm the wrong side of 50, I have 20+ years NCB, I've not had any claims in the last 5 years, none of my circumstances have changed since last year & mileage is restricted to 3k a year.

What really & truly gets my goat is that I've just put all the details into the confused.com website & the cheapest quote comes back at £208.54 with - yep, you guessed it, Aviva!

No prizes for working out that I'll be taking a new policy out with Aviva directly & letting the broker know that I won't be needing their services this time around (their fee is additional to the premium quoted).

Yup, no logic to it at all. I ended up going to NFU, we’d been insured with them previously for years but had left them for this very reason, now they came up as the best bet for both our vehicles, still eye watering but that seems the way today.

Legalised extortion
Said it before …
If someone’s not claimed in time period how the f&&k can they get away with doubling your premium … a higher authority or ombudsman or something needs to overlook the insurance companies getting mental

If you think you're paying a lot, wait until you hit 80. My insurance went up 125 per cent overnight.
And that was from those who would insure me.
Driving over 63 years without a claim.
