Anyone done/on the Carnivore diet?

Had a wee search and couldn't see much so just wondering if anyone here has/is doing the carnivore diet and and what results they had.

Was recommended it via a FB friend and been on it a month now and sounded like an easy way to lose a bit of beef but seems there is a fair bit more to just the weight loss.

Hello tried it last week consumed an u godly amount of meat circa 3kg of steak 2kg venison dozen eggs ish and about a block and a half of butter plus some salmon. Felt absolutely **** after a week gave it up supposedly the nausea is meant to pass but frankly the lack of fruit/veg/nuts was just absurd.

Genuinely wouldn’t bother I don’t think it’s sustainable or well based in science. I just had loads of meat to get through in the freezer so thought I’d try it.

Complete opposite. I hit it hard for 3 months and have laxed off slightly since.
Lost weight. Lost my bloated feeling. Felt almost zero brain haize. Stopped my energy crashes. Migraines LOTS better. Eye sight, but possibly as result of Migraine improvement.....the list goes on.

I never had any negative effects, but understand they exist.

Certainly worth a try 👍

Diets don’t work. You have to change your lifestyle. Eat a bit less, move a lot more and you’re in calorie deficit.

Eating protein only will result in weight loss which will soon be reversed as soon as you get back on the carbs.

True but proper carnivore is more than just protein it’s high fat as well hence why I felt so bloody sick.

Fair play you’re a better man than me I couldn’t even be arsed to go to the gym and my gyms in my garage 😂.

A friend of mine is on it, and it's worked really well for him.
I couldn't do it myself, as I love bread and potatoes far too much!
My wife has cut out almost all carbs (no potatoes, pasta or rice and just one slice of bread per day) and now eats primarily just lean meat (venison mostly) and green veg / salad. She's loads fitter, loads healthier, and is near as damn it as slim and trim as she was when I first met her at 18.
But everyone's metabolism is different, and what works for one person wouldn't work for another. My calorie intake in one meal far exceeds what my wife eats in a whole day, and I eat five meals a day. Gaining weight is something I find difficult, and sometimes I get a bit too skinny.

4 weeks now,and the first week like yours wasn't enjoyable at all.Nausea, cravings and for 2 days the whole body was aching and very flu like.

After that week, everything is fine,no cravings and appetite has calmed right down and only fit for one meal a day.

Most remarkable occurrences are BP down from 150/90ish to 124/72ish and all my daily aches and pains are totally gone.New knee approx 18 months ago, absolute total success but had pains in it that i have no idea what they were, have totally gone.Arthritic pain in a big toe knuckle that i broke has gone, and that's bothered me for 3ish years especially wearing boots.
Hip pain that i have no idea what the cause is,only had it for 4ish months but got a few twinges daily has now gone.

Main thought was losing the beef and i'm down 15.5lbs,but the pain going away is something i wouldn't have believed and having read up on some pages so many folk are reporting the same.

Very cynical about stuff like this but speaking for myself the benefits so far have been very impressive although long term i have no idea.

4 weeks now,and i can't believe the differences.

The first week was very hard for me,but from week 2 it's been very easy and wasn't expecting most of the benefits that i have had so far.

Have you tried worm pills. 🤢

Thought i would struggle bit time too,and for the first week it wasn't enjoyable.
Week 4 has just finished and no cravings for anything now, although a coffee with Baileys is never far from the mind.

The weight loss has been very good but the aches and pains that are no longer there is unbelievable really.

My cousin is on it and has been for near on 2 years now. He says he'll never go back to a carb rich diet.

He's lost I'm sure nearly 6 stone (he was nearly 19 stone) and suffered badly from nerve and back issues due to a hospital negligence mishap on his spine.

He sings the praises of the diet not just for the weight loss but the pains that have eased and especially the relief from swollen joints. Honestly when I see him, he is like a new man and full of life, where as before he was bordering on suicide (freely admits this).

Like everything it's not for everyone, but from what I've seen it certainly has it's merits.

Read loads of stories like this and took with a pinch of salt.

Hearing it from the likes of yourself regarding your cousin and having seen the difference in a month personally it's pretty remarkable imo.

I switched to having a Lidl £4 sirloin steak for my lunch years ago and it works for me.
I’m pretty low carb as opposed to carnivore but I have a cooked breakfast everyday and that keeps me going until lunch.
Try to avoid eating highly processed foods and feel all the better for it.

I personally don't think I could last on the carnivore diet, but a Keto diet I think I could manage as there is a bit more in there that you can eat.

It's something I've thought about doing for about 6 months now, and will continue to study before taking the leap.

My mate has been doing animal products only for over a year. He literally washes down steak or other meats with cubes of butter. Never seen anything like it.

He does have minerals and vitamins via supplements he takes but he is very very strict. No plant based stuff, nothing processed, no sugars, no carbs, no fruits. Nothing that isn't from an animal. He does eat some eggs and cheeses but mostly he just smashes down mince, steak and more steak.

He is average height and was well north of 16 stone. he is now under 12 stone and is literally alive like a jumping bean. The transformation is staggering. His eyes are so bright and alert. He is like a 15yr old chasing skirt again. He also reports better sleep and can work harder and longer than before. By definition he is a changed man.

Whether he dies of a heart attack I don't know but he shows no signs of giving it up because he clearly looks and feels so well.

Me? I like breads and pasta and carbs too much. I drink very little so could leave alcohol if I wanted to but my main vice is sugar. I have a terrible sweet tooth. Maybe I will try it. I know it would take the sort of control that I would find very difficult.

I think there appears to be enough clear evidence via personal case studies that show this approach might not be for everyone but it appears to work very well indeed for some.

I very much doubted i would manage to control it too,but after a week the urges have left and it's second nature.
My diet had became pretty dire this summer,an easy excuse was the rubbish weather to eat junk so the change in the first week probably hit the body a fair bit.
No doubt the diet isn't for all and probably better doing homework first to see if people are fit for it.

I loved the carnivore diet, lost weight quickly, felt great but my 'bad' cholestrol went through the roof. Now just try and eat as few processed foods as possible, plenty of veg, pulses, nuts, of all varieties, any carbs as complex wholegrain as possible, lean meat (all butcher cuts, chicken breast) , fish, full fat dairy, (pretty much a Mediterranean diet), and I've lost just under 2 kilos a week for the last 7. Timed it to coincide with my annual health check last week, cholestrol at 3.8, blood glucose and blood pressure spot on. Exercise has been minimal as I've fractured my spine, but I I haven't had any bevvy due to the meds I've been on, so that will have helped too!

I got on the Keto about a year ago, and lost a stone as easy as a wink, it's easy to stick to, and you don't feel as if you are depriving yourself of much, I will never go back to gorging on carbs.
Yes it's the reason I reckon I could manage it. The carbs I just feel bloated with anyway so I'll likely just get on with it once I figure out all the things I can or can't eat
