Which all round rifle in 6.5 CM

Any rifle that fits you and your purposes. I have five Creedmoors and all of them shoot as well or better than my .308s. My favorite hunting rifle is the Steyr Scout, my favorite target rifle is the Tikka Tac A1. The other three are in between. ~Muir

Albeit in .308, I had a Mauser M12 and found the fore end badly cut, barrel did not sit evenly in the stock channel, and the fore end very flexible. useless on a bipod. Unable to maintain any degree of accuracy.
Sent it back, yes paid a bit more, and got an Anschutz 1782 Classic. What a beauty, for all the reasons allude to by @andymauthe.

I would suggest, if you can, to try to get test firing of all the models you have mentioned, I'm sure one will stand out to you.

Good to know regarding the 20’ performance. I looked at S&L and couldn’t see a 6.5 CM in a left handed configuration. If there was then an S&L would be on the list as a mate has one and they are lovely ,accurate rifles.
The Schultz and Larsen rifles have the switch barrel system and to my knowledge the barrels are the same whether it is a RH or LH action.
The camming lugs are on the bolt not in the barrel and since they make a RH 6.5 CM that barrel should also work in the LH action.

From what I have read both the Mauser M12 and Sauer 101 have press fitted barrels. Apparently this makes replacing the barrel very difficult.

Doing some research and the CZ600 Ergo weighs in at 5.5lbs , you can buy extended butt pads as the LOP is under 14 inches as standard and a calibre change is possible.

As most of my shooting is done on foot , lightweight is a requirement.

Looks interesting, will have a look at one as soon as I can.

How are you getting along now with your Anschutz 1782? What length barrel did you go with for your .308? For the OP I have attached a few pictures of the rifle as disassembled to show the aluminum mini-chassis, the trigger assembly and adjustment screws, and the bolt to show the excellent machining details.

If you’re on sticks or a bipod as a left hander with a right handed bolt then it’s pretty easy and to use really.

Yes it’s certainly doable. But as a left hander myself, I’ve slowly gotten rid of all of my right handed bolt rifles over the years and gotten strictly left hand guns to replace them. It’s so nice to have a gun that fits you properly and has not only the bolt handle on the correct side, but also the safety! Life is too short to compromise when it comes to guns. If budget is a concern, Tikka makes many variations of their T3 in left hand. Tikka has some plastic parts but I have a pre T3 left hand in .223 that’s as smooth as warm butter and a tack driver. So that’s another good option for you.

I am led to believe that they are a Sako clone.

I went on the manufacturer website and they advertise a 2 lug 70 degree bolt lift. So maybe a Tikka clone? I didn’t see any details on the bolt head itself so I don’t know what the extraction or ejection arrangement is.

I have shot one on a range and carried it round all day in Africa, I didnt get the oppertunity to shoot an animal but I really liked the rifle . Well balanced and light weight.

@Domer As a left hander have you considered a Beretta BRX1. Straight pull bolt which can be switched to either side, interchangeable barrels in a few different calibres, including 6.5CM. There are also a few nice after market stocks available if you want to spend money. (Look up Fine Ballistic Tools from Austria)

The BRX1 is where my thoughts are at the moment.

The BRX1 is a good choice . The only thing that puts me off is the weight and the noise associated with cocking the action. I walk around with the gun unloaded and a bolt action is quieter that the beretta from my limited time with the beretta.

However they two things don’t put me off completely so I’d need to have another look at it.

If straight pull rifles are on the table then you are living in the land of straight pull rifles (Europe). Heym, Blaser, Steel Action, Berreta, and Jakele all make fine straight pulls which unfortunately aren’t as readily available here in the USA.
