Hi, I've just ordered a Sako TRG 22 in 6.5 Creedmoor and I'm trying to choose a scope that will do it justice. This is mainly for target work but might be used at a push for stalking, bearing in mind the weight of the rig. There are plenty of options out there, most of them hideously expensive. I'd prefer FFP with an upper magnification in the mid-20's at least. I'm heading towards a PM2 5-25 x 56 but there are other likely candidates like the Kahles 525i. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations? Are the cheaper Vortex Strike Eagle or Delta Stryker 5-25 x 56 models competitive?
I'm also considering the best mounting system, the Spuhr 20 moa looks fairly substantial but is it the best option.
Currently running a March 3-24 x 42 compact tactical FFP scope on my standard Sako 85 which is a versatile set up that works really well and I don't want to break it up. In any case I want something more focused. Weight is not so much of an issue.
