Available: Humane dispatch course( Hampshire )

Hampshire are not monopolising anything they have looked at what was available and decided it was no longer fit for purpose and have revamped it, as should be done periodically to any training material things change.
If they worked with DMQ to devise a course and no longer recognise any other, then unfortunately they are.

No, they are not - this is what happened. My understanding is:

1. Some Police constabularies used volunteers
2. The association of chief constables reviewed the provision of HAD and mandated that the volunteers should be trained, but on review the training, what was currently available was deemed in adequate. A lot of volunteer schemes got closed down and the role got passed to armed response units.
3. Hampshire constabulary had a very well organised scheme and wanted to keep it going.
4. DMQ stepped up and updated their training in partnership with Hampshire constabulary to ensure it was fit for purpose.

Stepping up and investing in an opportunity is not a monopoly, it's being first to market. If DMQ exploited an established working relationship, to me that's business. It may not have worked out and DMQ would have lost their investment. As Peter Jones/County Deer Stalking is going on about, there is no monopoly on DMQ being the only training provider. It's just that DMQ are the only currently available provider.

Everything has to start somewhere, the work to develop a new course with one provider is hard enough try and work with several at the same time, now it is done and ready I suspect there may be talks with other providers?? If others revamp their own courses in the future who knows?

I've not completed a HAD course so cannot comment on whether the current offerings are fit for purpose or not. What is happening to current HAD operatives, are they now no longer "qualified "?

A previous post stating that this new DMQ HAD course is the prerequisite to the Hampshire Constabulary training/vetting program, is therefore misleading.

All the current Hampshire HAD’s have done the new constabulary training but new HAD’s coming in will have to do a course before they do the vetting and police training

Completed my course with BDS about four years ago.
Met police and Kent contacted but not needed as in house.
Would i do the course again NO due to cost of me going on a hours drive each way.
cost of the course and time of work.

We shall see.

I'm all for training, and I hope others come forward to give budding HAD volunteers options for training and that Hampshire, and potentially other constabularies adopting the course, recognise them also !

Did they have to pay the £150 for the course?

I have asked for the images I supplied to another training provider many years ago to be removed ask no permission was gained before using.

Great...🤷‍♂️

Seems to be a bit of back peddling going on then....

Either way, quality, fit for purpose training is a good thing. However, £150 for a HAD course and then a further assessment/course with the constabulary, which I assume isn't a guaranteed pass? and no guarantee You'll go on their HAD register either, seems a little steep, and pointless to a degree..... but good luck with your course anyway 👍

Looking at that clip seems more cash convertors courses for this and that.

Yes I did the dispatch course did i use it no not needed by any one
DSC1 course great learning do i use it yes
Large game & meat do i use it yes

I don't think anyone would want a guaranteed pass of an assessment from the constabulary, that would sort of defeat the whole point of the exercise.

Anyone know what the cost of a HAD course from Jelen or County Deer Stalking is for comparison with the new DMQ/BDS course?

I don't know if it's a course or an assessment.??
But yes, an assessment for suitability wouldn't / shouldn't be guaranteed. If it's a course, then the delivered course content should make it passable if the candidate has paid attention!!
