What’s the problem? Deer legal up here is now min 80grns for all but roe. Or am i missing something with the .308 and 155grns? They should have enough ME.
I use a 150gn head in the .270 so quite close and very effective.

Hi Tim
Thank you for reply, was just looking for advice on soft point as so many out there, wondered if people have preferences, been using Hornady v-max Polymer tips in the .223 and .243 maybe stick with these and go for the .150gn was hoping to skip the fun of working up a load
Seria Game King's, what you have to remember the hide/skin of a deer is very thin so are the H/L's but many put them in the realms of Chobham Armour lol
I shoot Reds with a 95gn Hornady head

If you find that you need a copper or 'green' alternative, I use Geco Star (I think that's right), in 155g. I find it shoots 2in lower at 100m.

The PPU. Factory loads are reasonably priced in Australia in 150gn sp.
As a reloaded I have used Nosler BT and many others.
Each rifle might vary in what groups well so perhaps look at what’s available and try them in your rifle. It means working up but it might get the best result in the end
155gr is AFIK the mandated weight for TR, so plenty FMJ/Target bullets in that weight - but not so many suitable for quarry.
As folk have said, any standard 150gr softpoint would be a good starting-point. It seems likely to me that the powder that suits 155gr will also work with 150gr - but if i were you I'd definitely still work up the load.

Hard points meaning fmj, match, target or non expanding bullets/projectiles?Been using the .308 on target only with hard points, sorted it for with 155gn so was hoping for suggestions of a soft point to use with the powder I have been using.

It is the Hollow Point Boat Tails to be exact that have no polymer or soft tip so guess I should not have explained as hard point sorry

Lead and home loads, the V-Max I use normal in lower calibre seem a little to aggressive for want of a better word, to much damage was looking for something less destructive,
But will be lowering weight as it has been suggested,
